Highgate maintains corporate offices in London, New York, Dallas, and Seattle.OverviewThe Resort Activities & Cultural Ambassador will be an ambassador of Aloha. Sharing the Aloha spirit with Resort guests in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner while helping them to compose their 'Alohilani story. This role will be responsible for responding and engaging with guests in all Front of House areas, facilities and outlets. This role will assist The Resort Activities & Cultural Coordinator with the coordination of all Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach activities to include cultural programming, demonstrated knowledge of Hawaiian Culture, entertainment, kids activities, keiki passport program and pool deck programming.Responsibilities*
  • Daily knowledge of all VIP's, sites, functions, and groups. * Assist with daily guest special amenity requests. * Assist with all resort activities to include cultural programming, entertainment, kids activities, pool deck programming * Help create and manage the Resort s Calendar of activities * Liaison between resort and 3rd party operators (ie Poppins Hawai'i, Island Club & Spa, Expedia) for programming, on island events and outdoor classes. * Assist with the schedule of entertainment/live music for hotel outlets. * Assist the coordinator with special events and other evening activities * Assist in creating exhibits and/or crafts that celebrate the Oceanarium, Lili'uokalani and other cultural and unique aspects of the 'Alohilani. * Help maintain a tracking sheet to monitor events, vendor utilization, income, and expenses for each activity. * Assist with ensuring all invoices are paid in a timely manner; document all payments. * Assist with training for any activity department team members and volunteers. * Assist with producing a calendar of events for the next calendar season, while ensuring to stay within budget expectations. * Help with and organize fundraising and community activities to support the department. * Maintain accurate office and activity supply inventories. * Ensure all equipment and supplies are kept in good condition. * Perform other duties as requested by management.Qualifications * Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor and be an Ambassador of Aloha Spirit at all times. * Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. * Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. * Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. * Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. * Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings. * Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. * Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags. * Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. * Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions. * Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. * Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives. * Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. * Perform other duties as requested by management.Rate of pay: $30/hour
