The Prepared Foods Supervisor will assist with supervision of team members as well as with the day-to-day flow of the department. Additionally, you will maintain attractive Prepared Foods displays and support the regional Prepared Foods vision. You will work closely with the Prepared Foods Team Leader (Dept Manager) and Associate Team Leader (Assistant Dept Manager) to ensure smooth operation of the Prepared Foods Team. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members

Essential Duties:

  • Assist and support the Prepared Foods Leadership Team with all departmental functions.

  • Follow through on all customer questions and requests.

  • Keep all cases and shelves clean, well-stocked and properly rotated.

  • Follow established food safety, cleaning and maintenance procedures.

  • Maintain accurate retail pricing and signage.

  • Oversee sampling of department products to the customers.

  • Supervise and maintain special order system.

  • Be aware of new products and their placement.

  • Maintain backstock areas and coolers.

  • Control product transfers, waste and spoilage.

  • Know and practice proper lifting techniques and safe use of all tools and equipment.

  • Practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment.

  • Report safety violations and hazards immediately; maintain department security.

  • Communicate with Team Members regarding all department operations.

  • Assist with inventory.

  • Communicate company goals and information to Team Members.

  • Know product availability, preparation, storage and nutritional aspects.

  • Keep Store Leadership informed of all events that affect the department.

  • Participate in regional and national sales promotions.

  • Have a basic understanding of department financials and labor budgets.

  • Accept and process product from Receiver.

  • Perform Team Member duties as required to run the department.

  • Maintain and adhere to weekly/monthly cleaning schedule.

  • Assume primary responsibility for the following duties

  • Ensure that all Team Members take required breaks.

  • Ensure that temperature logs are accurately maintained.

  • Adhere to and direct Good Organics program.

  • Follow and direct Green Mission recycling program.

  • Ensure that all Team Members wear gloves when handling food.

  • Ensure that catering orders are completed correctly and on time

  • Regular attendance is essential.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Store Leadership/Coordinator.

  • Ensure all Team Members adhere to WFM Safety Policy.

Job Requirements:

  • Current participant or graduate in the applicable Southern Pacific Region Career Development program or equivalent from another region.

  • Must be self-motivated and solution-oriented.

  • Excellent merchandising skills and eye for detail.

  • Must have a current Serv-Safe certificate.

  • Ability to maintain good relationships with vendors and the community.

  • Good communicator and motivator; able to work well with others and convey enthusiasm.

  • Can train and inspire Team Members to excellence in all aspects of the department.

  • Knowledge of natural foods.

  • Is available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.

  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Some reaching above and below shoulder height.

  • Some exposure to dust, fumes and chemicals.

  • Repetitive use of hands and fine manipulation.

  • May need to use a ladder or stool to reach product or supplies.

  • Exposure to continuous background and occasional loud noises.

  • Any item over 40 pounds requires a team lift.

The Culinary Analyst will oversee the accuracy of recipes, ensuring correct items are included and staff are preparing correctly. They will also be responsible for creating and maintaining reports for developing operational disciplines toward quality assurance. Duties & Responsibilities * Establishes and maintains a process to test, evaluate, and update new and old recipes including accurate food item numbers, yields and methods of preparation. * Assists with development of recipes for culinary workshops. * Coordinates with the FoodPro coordinator, purchasing manager, chefs and the registered dietitian to ensure all new or substituted items are accurately updated and provided to FoodPro before they are entered into food production. * Ensures that recipes match labeling and nutrition information for each product in production. * Work with the FoodPro coordinator and registered dietitian on yield tests of current or new recipes to ensure accuracy of nutrition information and food cost. * Produces reports and analysis from culinary test kitchen results for effective decisions regarding product selection. * Generates reports and ROI analysis as requested for operational scenarios to enhance development of new products and services. * Develops and maintains reports and analysis of menu/recipe production costs toward outlet quality and cost consistency. * Oversees accuracy in recipe preparation for quality control and makes corrections when needed. * Coordinates recipes and items to be deleted from database that are no longer in use. * Assists culinary staff in developing product cross utilization for reduced waste and spoilage. * Acts as departmental budgeting process coordinator for timely response toward financial assignments. * Updates menu costs on a daily basis and advises Executive Chef on price trends. * Coordinates Menu Engineering Analysis with restaurant management system and records menu adjustments. * Spot-checks recipes and products to ensure consistency and accuracy of written recipes. * Performs other job-related duties as requested.
