The Opportunity

CLEVELAND SPORTSERVICE - CULINARY SUPERVISOR 2020 SEASON

Do you have working knowledge of food cost, best practices and purchasing?

We are Delaware North Sportservice at Progressive Field; Proud Partner of The Cleveland Indians, and we are looking for Culinary Supervisors to join our Team! Our Culinary Supervisors play a very important role here at the Ballpark by helping to keep our operations running at full speed ahead on game day.

Responsibilities

Culinary Supervisors perform many tasks including but not limited to:

  • Exhibits working knowledge of food cost, best practices, line checks, and purchasing

  • Ensures food items are prepared according to Delaware North standards of quality, consistency, and time lines

  • Maintains sanitation procedures and organization of work area

  • Complies to all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures

  • Maintains proper food temperatures and making sure food is stored correctly to ensure freshness and quality of all menu items

  • Performs opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed according to proper guidelines

  • Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations

  • Uses waste control guidelines and recording all waste on spoilage sheet

  • Purchases various food products as par levels dictate

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Please apply if you are organized, energetic, reliable, and willing to "hit one outta the park" for exceptional customer service! You must be 19 years of age or older, and be willing to work an event driven schedule- including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Candidates that have six (6) months to one (1) year of back-of-the-house food service experience and participation/enrollment in a culinary program are preferred. Each position will last from February-November and will offer hands-on experience in our kitchen areas.

You will have an opportunity to be exposed to our business, develop management skills and determine if you would like to pursue a career in our industry. This is a fast paced environment where high energy and positive attitude are a MUST, because at Delaware North Sportservice at Progressive Field, memories start with YOU!

Base rate for this position is $12 an hour and could be higher based on experience.

The Opportunity The Concession Manager is responsible for directing the activities of our units' concession areas which includes bars, portable carts and food service outlets. Our local concepts require someone with an eye for local food flair and tastes. Knowledge of menu engineering. Supervision of concession personnel in company procedures, scheduling employees and volunteers to ensure adequate staffing and setup of concesion stations. Directing storage, preperation and service of concession merchandising. Anyalzing product usage and use of the information to determine products to be purchased and the quantity to be ordered and executed per our menus. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in business, hospitality or food service management is preferred. 5+ years of director or high level concessions or restaurant managment experience is required. Good general working knowledge of concession procedures and activities. Knowledge of food preperation and inventory control procedures. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
