We seek a skilled and dynamic Culinary Supervisor, preferably with Hotel/Resort Experience, who can further refine, enhance, expand and promote our company's culinary philosophies while assisting in taking the culinary operation at Hyatt Regency Orange to new levels of excellence. This is an engaged and creative position with a focus on team management and development, reporting directly to the Executive Sous Chef.
Essential Functions:
Planning and execution of the dessert and baked goods menu
Co-Supervision of cooks
Testing and tasting of recipes
Development of new designs and recipes
Creation of signature dishes
Ordering of supplies and equipment
Training and mentoring of staff
Setting and working within a budget
Coordination with the Executive Sous Chef on complementary flavors
Following the latest trends in culinary arts
Artistically creating showpieces or centerpieces
Experimentation with new flavors
Assigning priorities to guest requests
· Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
· Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
· Address guests' service needs.
· Speak with others using clear and professional language.
· Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
· Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
· Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
· Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
· Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
· Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a high standard.
· Proven experience as Culinary Professional, or relevant role
· Great attention to detail and creativity
· Organizing and leadership skills
· Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
· In depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition
· Working knowledge of cooking with ingredient limitations (food that are gluten free, sugarless etc.)
· Certificate in culinary arts, or relevant field
· Great people Skills
Must be available during the weekends and holidays
