The Position: The Culinary Producer & Food Stylist works closely with recipe developers, editors, photographers, videographers, and art directors to create and style captivating, appetizing, best-in-class visuals. This role collaborates closely with multiple stakeholders, including members of the brand, direct, social, and editorial teams. A core member of our studio and test kitchen teams, the food stylist is skilled at preparing a wide range of camera-ready bakes, including breads, pizzas, cakes, cookies, and more. The food stylist works on both photo and video shoots and takes on the occasional recipe test.

The Location: Hybrid combining working from home, and onsite at King Arthur Baking's Creative Studio in Lebanon, NH roughly 3 weeks per month. Ideal candidates will be located within a 2-3-hour drive of our offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary stylist for photo and video shoots in our Lebanon, NH, studio, including those for catalogue, YouTube, brand campaigns, and the recipe site.

  • Prepares shopping lists for upcoming shoots and assists in gathering ingredients

  • Participates in planning meetings for upcoming shoots

  • Maintains strong relationships with cross-functional teams, primarily Creative, Social, Brand, and Merchandising

  • Assists in the effort to keep the studio in an orderly and tidy state conducive to efficient, fast-paced shooting, with special attention paid to the pantry and prep kitchen spaces.

  • Occasionally cross-tests recipes for the catalogue, website, and/or cookbooks.

  • Occasionally serves as stylist and hand model on short-form video shoots.

  • Serves as a full member of our Editorial team, particularly the test kitchen wing of that team. Attends brainstorms and tastings when possible and develops strong relationships with other bakers in the test kitchen.

Education/Experience

  • 3-5 years food styling experience, on both photo and video shoots preferred

  • Culinary Degree or several years working in a professional baking setting

  • Excellent baking skills, including in the yeasted (pizza/bread) category

  • Experience working cross-functionally, specifically on complex projects requiring collaboration, stakeholder involvement, and direct decision making

Competencies

  • Time Management: Proficiency in prioritizing multiple projects at once, managing workloads efficiently, and meeting deadlines.

  • Project Management: The ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects, ensuring that work in and out of the studio is completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Experience with project management software, such as Asana, a plus.

  • Communication Skills: The ability to articulate both creative and culinary ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration: The capability to work effectively with art directors, photographers, videographers, prop stylists, and other individuals; contribute to group efforts; and build positive working relationships.

  • Understanding of Branding: Awareness of the King Arthur brand identity and marketing objectives.
