Culinary Instructor And Employment Coach (Pt)

We are seeking a Culinary Instructor and Employment Coach, that will provide group culinary instructions and individualized mentoring and job coaching to support students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop the skills needed to obtain employment in the food industry, and in-demand industry sector.

This is a part-time, grant-funded, hourly position.

Example of Duties:

• Instruct students with developmental and intellectual disabilities to gain skills to work in the food services industry

• Collaborate with other program staff to conduct initial assessments to analyze student interests, employability, and job skills

• Develop the curriculum, daily lesson plans, and training activities

• Order food products, supplies, equipment, and serving materials for training

• Train students to learn and accurately carry out job duties

• Educate students in the proper handling and efficient use of supplies, materials and equipment used in the work environment

• Conduct and supervise job shadowing, job sampling, and job exploration activities

• Work collaboratively with program staff and employers to explore unmet business needs to increase opportunities for students

• Develop and maintain partnerships with employers and the business community to obtain employment opportunities for students

• Provide employment placement follow-up and post-employment support

• Develop and manage employer database

• Collaborate with program staff to manage program records and complete reports for attendance, placement, and retention

• Perform other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

• Minimum of three years of food service experience required

• Minimum of one year of teaching or training experience required

• ServSafe certification, preferred

• Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferred

• Prior experience with job placement or hiring of food service workers, preferred
