Summary

Assist in the preparation and execution of food in the designated outlets in accordance with departmental quality standards, recipes and plating guide specifications. Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1.Ability to maintain a clean, neat and organized work environment.
2.Ability to follow recipes, to increase or decrease recipe as needed.
3.Demonstrates good knife skills.
4.Ability to season food properly.
5.Ability to properly follow all process that are in place.
6.Understands how to read contracts and order tickets.
7.Ability to communicate with all internal customers efficiently. (stewarding, banquets)
8.Ability to fill out all requisitions properly.
9.Ability to follow all rules and regulations in employee handbook properly.
10. Properly rotate product in walk in cooler.
11. Clean and maintain equipment properly.
12. Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation / health regulations and hotel requirements.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate; enrolled or recently completed a College Culinary Degree Program. Prefer 1 year or more of experience in the culinary field; prefer Food handling and sanitation certificate.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Availability

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is open and operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

License Requirements

Valid driver's license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.

Rules and Regulations

All employees must adhere to all safety rules and regulations required by local, State and Federal authorities, wear the appropriate personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job in a safe manner and will follow all safety rules per the Company's Safety Policy.

Language Skills

Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language.
