Job Summary

The mission of this position is to build purchasing income by increasing compliance to negotiated purchasing programs. Success is achieved by providing superior customer service to external operators while giving them the tools to achieve sector initiatives. Position will be located in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and initiate action plans to improve customer compliance to purchasing programs and to support conversion initiatives

  • Product knowledge resource for opportunity analysis review

  • Support conversion activities with product support and expertise

  • Assist customers in establishing and executing strategic purchasing initiatives to drive revenues

  • Support culinary activities for on boarding new customers

  • Coordinate Product Match and Mapping activities for Conversion files, Market Baskets and new business on boarding

  • Coordinate samples for customers

  • Coordinate product cutting and showings

  • Coordinate vendor training and product related activities

  • Work with manufacturers on any product or program related activities

  • Coordinate nutritional/spec information for members

  • Coordinate and lead consulting support for customers

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have 3+ years of food service and/or purchasing experience

  • Strong culinary background and operational experience

  • Strong organizational skills needed to manage multiple projects.

  • Strong professional presentation and interpersonal skills combined with good verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Strong excel background is needed.

  • Ability to travel approximately 40% annually

  • Knowledge of FoodBuy systems to support product work

  • BA, BS or Culinary Degree

  • Proficiency with Foodbuy internal systems and programs is a plus

  • Maintain and contribute to the development of the Foodbuy image by representing the company in a professional and positive manner.

  • Ability to work in groups as well as individually while holding multiple stakeholders accountable to outcomes.

Where: Located in the attractive Huntersville area near Charlotte, North Carolina POSITION OVERVIEW: The Cook 1 is a member of the Food & Beverage Team and is responsible for food preparation, cooking, and serving. This position reports to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Work and master one kitchen station; accepts responsibility for personal decisions and actions. * Ensure superior standards of service meet the requirements of guests and employees. * Proactive in exceeding guest satisfaction.At times it may be necessary to investigate, quickly respond to, and resolve challenges from guests or employees. * Follow cleaning schedule and checklist daily to ensure a clean and sanitary environment. * Familiar with food preparation, cooking, and serving techniques; must be able to read cooking instructions. * Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use. * Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles. * Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods; adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles. * Observe and test foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and noticing the visual appearance. * Carve meats, portion food on serving plates, add gravies and sauces, and garnish servings to fill orders. * Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
