Culinary Assistant

Overview

We are looking for a Server/Culinary Assistant to join our team! This food service role is responsible for dining room meal service to our senior age residents and maintaining supplies in the kitchenettes for our Assisted Living Community in Mankato, MN. This nutrition services schedule includes;

• 80 every two weeks

• Full time ; 11am - 7:30pm

• Includes every other weekend and holiday rotations

The Pillars of Mankato provides independent living, assisted living, and memory care apartments for seniors in a specially designed community. We incorporate the seven components of wellness (emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual, social, environmental, and occupational) into our 118 units that make up The Pillars. Located near the crossroads of US 14 and 169, our community has its bus that residents can ride for our outings.

Responsibilities/Job Description

• Serves prepared meals to residents and ensures the dining area is clean and inviting

• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and happiness with their meal service

• Sanitizes equipment, work areas and maintains supplies

• Assists with meal prep and special events

• Provides kitchen support when needed with dish washing and cleaning of floors

• Answers phones and communicates requests appropriately

Qualifications

• No previous experience required, but prefer work experience in a customer service setting

• Excellent customer service skills and proficiency, teamwork and positive demeanor required

• Desire to work with seniors

• Ability to interact compassionately and communicate effectively with residents and staff
