JOB SUMMARY

The CTM, Campus Communications Lead, serves as a key communicator of the Office of Academics' updates to campus leaders and teachers. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication processes to deliver relevant updates and resources to educators efficiently. This position involves creating, editing, and managing all campus-facing academic communications from various departments within the Office of Academics.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1 Communicate Office of Academics updates to campus leaders and teachers effectively, using the HISD Insider platform and other communication channels.

2.Establish and maintain a streamlined process for communicating relevant updates, resources, and connections to teachers and campus staff.

3.Collaborate with various departments within the Office of Academics to gather information, updates, and resources for dissemination.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED

4.Create, edit, and manage engaging and informative content for campus-facing communications, including emails, newsletters, and other communication materials, utilizing the HISD style guide and communication norms.

5.Implement feedback mechanisms to gauge the effectiveness of communications and adjust strategies as needed to improve reach and engagement.

6.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (depending on the specific requirements of the cross-functional team)

WORK EXPERIENCE

3 Years Experience working in cross-functional teams or projects.

SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse functional backgrounds.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear and concise information sharing.

Strong problem-solving abilities, with a logical and analytical mindset to address complex challenges.

Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and changing work environment.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines.

Proficiency in relevant software and tools used by the cross-functional team.

Continuous learning mindset, with a willingness to expand knowledge and skills in other functional areas.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility.

Leading and directing typically involves monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of same duties they are leading.

WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT

Work is non-standardized and widely varied, involving many complex and significant variables including significant time spent planning, evaluating complex solutions and issues, and negotiating outcomes. Strong analytic ability and inductive thinking are frequently required to devise new approaches to situations where previously accepted solutions have proven inadequate.

Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the division. Supervision received typically consists of providing periodic coaching, advice, and feedback.

BUDGET AUTHORITY

No budget development activity is required.

PROBLEM SOLVING

Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS

Decisions have moderate impact to the facility/department or division, causing increased satisfaction or dissatisfaction; producing efficiencies or delays; promoting or inhibiting personal intellectual or professional development; and/or contributing to financial gain or expense. Errors may be serious, usually not subject to direct verification or check, causing losses such as improper cost calculations, overpayment or improper utilization of labor, materials, or equipment. Effect usually confined to the organization itself and is short term.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS

Collaborate and solve problems - works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.

CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems. Regularly explores alternative and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer within HISD's policies and guidelines.

WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.

Ability to carry and/or lift less than 15 pounds.
