CTE - Stem Teacher @Farmville Central HS

Summary:

Under the general direction of a principal, provides leadership in an educational environment that encourages and nurtures learning for all students. Provides supervision to students in a variety of school related settings, monitors and evaluates student outcomes, develops, selects or modifies lesson plans to ensure all student needs are met, and maintains appropriate records and follows all policies and procedures of NCDPI and PCS. Provides quality standards-based instruction in the area of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Education; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.

Essential Duties

• Plan, organize, and teach a competency-based CTE program in STEM curriculum.

• Provides the bridge needed by all students to deal with major societal issues such as work-and-family, health care, child and elder care, family and community violence and crime, global economics and politics, and technology usage.

• Demonstrate effective classroom and computer lab management

• Assist in coordination of CTE Student Organization activities for local, regional, state and/or national competition

• Participates in field trips to post-secondary institutes, worksites, businesses and hands-on workshops

• Assist in development of and participate in activities designed to promote an innovative business and technology program

• Develop community and industry partnerships for students

Students develop personal effectiveness and industry-relevant technical skills as they explore and pursue career pathways aligned to the STEM & Technology/Engineering standards.

• Technology Engineering & Design

Required Degree Level:

• Bachelor's or Associates for Business or Information Technology education license

• Examples of Related Degrees:

• Computer science, Finance, Organizational Management, Information & Computer Technology, Project Management, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Network Administration, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, etc.

• Examples of Related Work Experience:

• Business manager, operations analyst, financial manager, buyer, chief information officer, loan officer, sales manager, retail manager, project developer, computer programmer, software developer, IT strategist, computer engineering technician, network engineer, systems administrator, data support technician, etc.

• Bachelors for Technology Engineering & Design education license

• Examples of Related Degrees:
