Purpose of Job: KCPS is currently seeking a Career and Technician Education Specialist to further the planning of KCPS CTE programs. As part of the Academic Division, this position aligns work and initiatives with frameworks established by the District and supports student achievement and graduation. This position reports directly to the Director of Career and Technical Education and supports the partnering with building principals and their staff to lead, districtwide, the development of all Career and Technical Education frameworks

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following and other duties that may be assigned

  • Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements for protecting student information

  • Compile and prepare various CTE forms, files, reports and records from a variety of reference sources

  • Market programs and recruit interested students

  • Communicate with parents, students and staff providing general CTE information

  • Assist with the organization and documentation of CTE trainings/workshops

  • Organize CTE enrollment and registration process

  • Create and manage the CTE online application process

  • Review transcripts, attendance log, discipline log, and iCAP for student registration data collection

  • Complete registration rubric selection process with all required documentation with team consisting of CTE staff and counselor(s)

  • Collect data on applicants and required placement scores

  • Verify applications are complete and ready for processing

  • Audit and monitor CTE enrollment data

  • Communicate registration updates with high school counselors and high school registrars

  • Prepare weekly enrollment updates (counselors and registrars).

  • Attend staff meetings as required

  • Create and maintain manual and digital files

  • Assist with the CTE state assessment preparation

  • Assist with state reporting

  • Communicate schedule changes with high school registrars and counselors

  • Assist in the accurate identification and monitoring of students enrolled in CTE

  • Compare CTE data from several sources to ensure accuracy of technical information or other technical documents, using judgment and relying on knowledge of subject material

  • Input and track all CTE CTSO registrations

  • Assist CIPD Department

  • Assist with CTE program advisory committees

  • Coordinate events for students as an introduction to various career pathways

  • Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree

  • Five years of experience in an educational setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills (oral and written), and leadership skills

  • Time management skills, ability to prioritize

  • Strong focus on academics, knowledge of curriculum and teaching strategies, knowledge of state and local mandates, passionate and enthusiastic about CTE

  • Three years of experience in public relations, job development, career placement and/or other related fields

Physical Demands:

This job requires that the employee be able to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, lift objects of at least ten pounds; visual ability requires mono and color vision.

Our focus is always on outcomes and results that connect citizens more effectively with government services.The Labor Hours Specialist will be responsible for performing tasks related to the verification of hours worked as they relate to call center forecast.Essential Job Duties• Work with a remote team & site leadership to aggregate forecast data and speak to variances between projected and actual hours by utilizing daily reports from available sources (ACD (Automated Call Distribution), Time Keeping Systems, Scheduling software) • Ensure that site staff use correct charge codes and work with management to correct if otherwise• Monitor TKS for to ensure employees punch-in or out during a shift• Ensure timecards are completed at the end of each pay-period• Answer questions from Supervisors about timecards• Escalate questions and issues to TCAs• Refer supervisors and managers to CQA employer Human Capital, Help Desk, Finance, TKS support for system issues or other escalations• Must be comfortable obtaining deadline driven artifacts from a multitude of resources to include department management and staff with varying schedules• Moderate to Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel to include familiarity with search formulas such as v and hlookup.• Works on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues• Communicates on complex or sensitive issues or draft such responses for management• Familiarity with MS SharePoint file actions, structure, and file governance• Anticipate issues proactively and escalate to management as appropriate• Responsible for adhering to all established safety standards• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for and extended time• Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds• Work is constantly performed in an office environmentEducation and Experience Requirements• High school diploma or GED• Associates degree from an accredited college or university preferred• Previous experience in a call center environment and/or workforce management• 6 months to 1 year of customer service experience preferred.• Strong data entry and telephone skills• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills• Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment• Ability to work as a team member, as well as, independently• Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of all information• Ability to comply with current and updated policies and procedures• Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneouslyIn accordance with contractual requirements: Employment and continued employment is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable initial and final suitability determination, which will be decided in the sole discretion of the Census Bureau.
