Job Title: Career and Technical Education Public Safety Instructor

Job Summary:

The Career and Technical Education Public Safety and EMT Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and guidance to students pursuing careers in public safety and emergency medical technology. This 10-month position involves teaching Public Safety and Emergency Medical Technology courses, as well as other courses falling within the instructor's licensure area, in compliance with Perkins V guidelines for Career and Technical Education.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver effective instruction: Provide engaging and comprehensive instruction in Public Safety and Emergency Medical Technology courses, utilizing appropriate teaching methodologies and resources to enhance student learning outcomes, ensuring that course content meets the needs of students and prepares them for relevant certifications and licensure.

Assess student performance: Design and implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and achievement, providing timely feedback and guidance to support student growth.

Maintain a safe learning environment: Promote and enforce safety protocols in all instructional activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Foster student engagement: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and critical thinking, fostering student engagement and promoting a passion for the field of public safety and emergency medical technology.

Professional development: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and practices in the field of public safety and emergency medical technology, enhancing instructional strategies and content knowledge.

Collaborate with stakeholders: Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, industry professionals, and community partners to enhance program effectiveness, develop work-based learning opportunities, and establish industry connections for student internships and job placements.

Maintain accurate records: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data in compliance with school and district policies.

Licensure requirements: Possess a valid EMT Instructor license and demonstrate the ability to obtain Trade and Industrial Education licensure to meet state requirements for teaching Public Safety and Emergency Medical Technology courses.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public safety, emergency medical technology, etc.).

Valid EMT Instructor license.

Ability to obtain Trade and Industrial Education licensure.

Previous teaching experience in Career and Technical Education, preferably in the field of public safety and emergency medical technology.

Strong knowledge and understanding of current industry standards and practices in public safety and emergency medical technology.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.

Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver instructional materials using a variety of teaching methodologies and technologies.

Commitment to continuous professional growth and staying updated with industry advancements.
