CTC Supervisor

Supervisor - Clermont Transportation Connection

Pay Range 13 - Minimum $18.64/hr

Non-Exempt, Classified Position

8 hour shift between 5am and 7pm

On call in rotation with other Supervisors

High school education or GED equivalent. Ability to work with the public.

Knowledge of and ability to meet all Commercial Driver's License (CDL) requirements and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Must have and maintain a valid class B CDL with passenger endorsement. Ability to calculate decimals, fractions, and percentages, and make change in US currency.

Ability to read and write common vocabulary. Ability to keep accurate records, define problems, collate data, establish alternatives, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to speak clearly, operate multi-line telephones and radio communication devices.

Duties are normally performed seated in a standard office setting or CTC vehicle but will require standing and walking. Work is performed outdoors at times, in a vehicle, indoors with adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. May be required to operate a transit vehicle.

Must be able to handle stressful situations, such as accident scenes. Must be able to recommend and carryout discipline and commendations. Must be able to stoop and squat to secure wheelchairs safely.

Job requires good hearing and visual acuity. Must be able to move or lift packages weighing up to 25 pounds.

Operates telephone, radio, and computer systems to receive calls for service, appropriately log and route calls, and schedule routes for Vehicle Operators for each day of service. Receive minor complaints from customers and forward information to the immediate supervisor.

Submit to DOT/FTA program regulations as required. Assists with or conducts accident investigations and completes appropriate paperwork accurately, neatly, and timely. Provides direct supervision of subordinate CTC staff; preparation of staffing schedules; approval or denial of leave requests; ensures coverage for vacancies; adheres to staffing policies in the use of overtime, vacations, comp time, personal leave and sick leave; ensures staff readiness through training; completes annual performance evaluations; meets with employees to address grievances; assigns and reviews subordinates work; provides discipline as needed; assists with interviewing and recommending new employees.

Disciplines and commends subordinate CTC staff according to county and CTC policies and procedures. Assists & supervises special events as required.

Performs on-road monitoring of CTC Vehicle Operators. Ensures subordinate CTC staff abide by all federal, state, & local laws and ordinances.

Assures compliance with CTC pre and post trip policies and procedures, as stated in the CTC employee handbook. Conducts annual performance evaluations for assigned subordinate staff.

Operates a transit or other vehicle as required according to state and federal regulations with attention to safe, efficient, customer service oriented operations. Provide assistance to customers entering or exiting the vehicle as necessary.

Maintain accurate records of fares charged, fuel used, miles traveled, hours logged, and passengers transported. Perform minor service of vehicle prior to starting route each day by checking fluid levels, etc.

Cleans interior and exterior of transit vehicles and other department vehicles as assigned.

Works alone or with other persons in short- or long-term team projects to resolve problems or conflicts in any area of county operations or to complete assigned projects at the direction of any county supervisor or Department Head when assigned. Participates in cross-training and maintains proficiency in area of cross-training as necessary. New and other related duties as assigned.
