Goal:
The position provides quality standards-based instruction in the content area; assesses and encourages student progress, manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement, and ensures that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for career and post-secondary opportunities.
Primary Function:
The computer Science teacher provides standards-based instruction in the area of Computer Science Education to ensure that students gain appropriate knowledge and skills about the industry and are prepared for career and post-secondary opportunities.
Additional Functions:
Completes the requirements to obtain and maintain Business/Computer Science industry certification when deemed appropriate.
Spends a minimum average of 10 hours per month (or amount equivalent to state extended day pay) beyond the hours required of non-supplemented teachers in instructional (co-curricular) activities with early childhood education students or in collaborative meetings and events.
Completes additional days of career-related instructional training that may include, but are not limited to the following activities:
Regional, State, and National FBLA Conferences and Competitions; Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education (GACTE) Summer Conference; Georgia Business Education Association (GBEA) Conference; Georgia CTAE Resource Network Professional Learning; Local and/or State FBLA Officer Training; Industry Certification Trainings; Business Externship; LEAD CTAE Professional Development Regional, State, and National FBLA Conferences and Competitions; GHSA E-Sports Team Sponso
