CT Technologist Imaging

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is a 444-bed acute care hospital in the heart of Houston's museum district. Established in 1975, the hospital has been serving Houston for more than 40 years. It provides a wide range of medical services, including cardiology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurology, emergency care and more.

The hospital is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.

What you will do in this role:

(CT Technologist) Under the general direction of the Director and Manager of Imaging Services and the Supervisor of CT, the CT Technologist is responsible for the provision of computed tomographic radiographs to patients in accordance with physicians' orders.

  • The CT Technologist provides for patient safety and high quality testing.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact with patient, physicians, visitors, and other staff members

  • Prepares patients for CT exam, explains procedure and ensures technical quality.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Demonstrates ability to accurately provide quality CT examinations in a timely manner.

  • Is able to handle high volume, high stress situations.

  • Has exceptional critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities.

  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education.

  • Upholds the highest standards of customer service at all times ("customer" includes patients, family members, co-workers, referring physicians, etc.).

  • Actively participates in P.I. activities established by the Imaging Department.

  • Possesses knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to work accurately within the Imaging Department.

  • Serves as a mentor and resource to less experienced staff/students.

  • Completes other tasks and activities as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Associates, Diploma or BSRT degree in Radiologic Technology

  • Previous experience in CT in a hospital setting is preferred.

Education

  • Current registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

  • Advanced certification in CT

  • Current licensure by the TMB as an MRT

  • Current verification of competency in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS)

VIEW JOBS 10/1/2019 2:59:53 PM 2019-12-30T14:59 <p><strong>Ambulatory Registered EEG Technologists</strong> Neurovative Diagnostics - Houston, TX and Surrounding Cities</p> <p><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong>Neurovative Diagnostics is seeking a registered or non-registered EEG technologist responsible for performing in home ambulatory EEGs in Midland, TX and the surrounding area</p> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong></p> <p>1. Requires extensive driving to the patient's homes in a 200-mile area of Houston, TX (car mileage paid). Must have valid driver's license and current auto insurance.</p> <p>2. Must meet the needs of the patient and physicians using the guidelines, policies and procedures set by the company. Background checks are possible.</p> <p>3. Under minimal supervision, set up the equipment and the patient for an ambulatory or routine EEG in the patient's home or physician's office. Must also disconnect patients from EEG leads and upload studies.</p> <p>4. Ability to communicate well with patients, physicians and other employees.</p> <p>5. Obtains required medical information, assesses the patient and explains the procedure with paperwork to the patient and family members.</p> <p>6. Must be willing to handle patient phone calls during their AEEG study</p> <p>7. Must be able to identify and notate normal and abnormal variants of the entire EEG.</p> <p>8. Maintain and clean equipment to ensure proper functioning.</p> <p>9. Maintain a positive relationship with referring physicians and fellow employees by quickly resolving issues.</p> <p>10. We focus on patient centered care.</p> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION:</strong>Registered EEG Technologist preferred.</p> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:</strong>Minimum of one-year experience in Neurodiagnostic Technology preferred. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development stages to meet each patient's needs.</p> <p><strong>LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:</strong>ABRET REEGT Certificate and Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.</p> <p><strong>OTHER SKILLS:</strong>Proficient computer skills, Basic knowledge of MS Office and EEG applications, Problem solving, Attention to detail, Must be able to recognize equipment problems and perform basic troubleshooting.</p> <p>Job Type: Contract/PRN</p> Neurovative Diagnostics Houston TX
