Reports to CT Supervisor. Under general direction, is responsible for the acquisition of CT Scans of patients for diagnostic purposes and providing patient service, using applicable imaging modalities.

A CT Technologist provides optimal patient care utilizing established accepted techniques.

Performs CT Scans with and without contract within established guidelines in the clinic setting. Provides care to patients during CT Scans.

Performs clinical activities required to assist the physician in a clinical setting. Exercises appropriate measures to maintain high standards of patient care. Assists with the discharge of patients.

Orders and maintains neat and orderly stock of supplies. Complies with standards of JCAHO and other governing agencies. Graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology School and/or an accredited training school in Ultrasound techniques.

Preparing for registry or certification by either ARDMS or ARRT. Knowledge of CT equipment. Must have BLS/CPR by the American Heart Association.

Under general direction, responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established protocols and policies and procedures. Selects appropriate equipment for use in ultrasound setup, following exam specifications Explains the test to the patient. Instructs and assists the patient in assuming the physical position for examination. Assesses patient#s understanding of process and informed consent. Selects a transducer and adjusts the equipment controls according to the organ to be examined, the depth of field and other specifications of test. Enters test data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results. Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of the body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced. Produces images of internal organs and records diagnostic data on magnetic tape, computer disk, strip printout or film. Obtains permanent record of internal examination by photographing images of organs shown on the display module removing the strip printout. Assesses, evaluate and informs physician of changes in patient#s condition during the exam. Performs all quality control checks, as prescribed. Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc. Understands and practices proper use of all equipment; never operates equipment inconsistent with manufacturer#s instructions. Graduation from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology School and/or an accredited training school in Ultrasound techniques.
