CT Technologist / Radiology Tech - MMC - EC
Scheduled Weekly Hours:
Casual; variable shifts (United States of America)
The CT Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures using ionizing radiation that requires independent judgment, ingenuity, initiative, and requires 6 months to one year of training to produce diagnostic CT images. The CT Technologist works under the direction of a Radiologist to perform CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision for
technical detail. The Technologist assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures and taking corrective action for minor equipment and/or computer malfunctions.
Room set up, patient positioning, patient screening, photographing and quality control are the direct responsibilities of the Technologist. Must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and
medical knowledge to render quality patient care. Each technologist is responsible for the safety of his/her patients, visitors, and medical staff in the CT area while in his or her care.
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of a
formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school (2 years).
Preferred Education: Additionally, 6-12 months of CT training
Minimum Experience Required: 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
Preferred/Optional Experience: 2 years experience as a CT Technologist
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position, which must be maintained in good standing:
Minimum Required: Valid Radiographer licensure in the State of Wisconsin.
ARRT Certification in Radiology with eligibility for CT Certification. Must obtain CT certification within two years of employment. CPR Certification is mandatory.
