STATUS: Per Diem

LOCATION: Unity Hospital

ATTRIBUTES

  • Two years CT experience required

  • Ability to recognize basic cardiac arrhythmias

  • Exceptional computer and communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care. Responsible for radiography of patients, including CT scans and Interventional CT guided procedures; provide on-call coverage for CT section of Radiology; follow up on patient care issues/needs

  • Documentation. Maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and procedures; document performance of studies in patient charts

  • Daily Maintenance. Assist with day-to-day supervision of the CT team; clean, restock and prepare rooms

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist

  • New York State Education Department (NYSED); RTC - Radiologic Technologist certification

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

VIEW JOBS 4/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-16T00:00 Opening Full Time 40 hours Grade 090 Imaging Sciences - OP Bldg Responsibilities Position Summary: Performs clinical and technical functions to support faculty, nursing and technical staff with patient care activities. Participates with the coordination of workflow in order to maintain efficient operation of the area. Conducts self in a manner that is conductive to teamwork with in the area of practice. Responsibilities: * Stocks radiology CT area with linen, stretchers, gloves, O2 lines, suction, needle boxes, and other necessary supplies. * Is competent with equipment use including, telephone; fax machine, loads film magazine, and page system. * Assists with safe transfer and transport of patients. * Assists the patient change cloths for procedure, takes pre/post procedure vital signs per protocol. * Turns over area in preparation for the next patient. Tasks include; remove dirty linen, red bags and garbage, wipes down all counters, puts clean linen on CT table, replaces O2 and suction lines when necessary. * Keeps full supply of oral contrast. * Provides assistance with various computer tasks including IDX Rad and looking up labs, under the direction of the technologist or nurse. * Night Clin Tech: Prepares outpatient waiting room for morning patients, turns on lights, arranges tray tables, opens refrigerator lock and all above duties as appropriate. Age Specific * Interacts in a respectful manner, considerate of age and physical abilities (i.e., sight, and hearing needs). * Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient. * Possesses the ability to assess the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs as per department policies and procedures. * Develops and/or supervises the analysis of patient information and interpretation of data to provide an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care. Customer Service * Interactions are courteous, clear and helpful to the customer * Creates positive interface between radiology department and all it's customers. * Does not allow personal conflicts or problems to interfere with interactions. Does not participate in gossip * Understands customer's unique needs and expectations. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent plus three years of experience in a patient care setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates degree preferred.
