Job Summary:

The CT Technologist I performs computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.

  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

  • Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.

  • Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

  • Performs CT, diagnostic and specialized radiographic procedures. Observes procedure protocols and assesses procedure quality via analysis of filmed image. Ensures that ancillary staff, family members and co-workers observe radiation safety procedures and performs education as needed.

  • Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted. Determines the need for equipment maintenance and reports malfunctions in a timely manner. Establishes an orderly and clean working environment.

  • Charges examinations and supplies and completes paperwork.

  • Assesses patient and family need for education and assistance specific to imaging procedure and coordinates service.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • May be required to be "on-call."

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists license in Radiography (ARRT-R) is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.

  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) course completion card from the American Heart Association is required prior to hire or job transfer date.

  • Texas Medical Board Medical Radiologic Technologist General Certification (MRT, category G) is required or must be obtained prior to hire or job transfer date.

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist license in Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) is preferred.

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Radiologic Technology is preferred

  • Six (6) months of experience as a registered Radiologic Technologist is required.

  • Previous CT experience is preferred.

Job Description The VP Medical Affairs - Dell Seton Medical Center develops strategies to align with the mission, vision and values of the organization. Provides oversight for medical and clinical areas to ensure achievement of goals for the department(s). The position involves both operational and clinical oversight responsibilities and works closely with the Academic faculty and leadership in the accomplishment of these responsibilities. The position reports to the Market Chief Medical Officer. Responsibilities: * Provides leadership to management within areas of responsibility, to include but not limited to; Quality and Clinical outcomes Case management Medical Staff governance Growth and strategic planning * Oversees the development and continuous improvement of services, policies, processes, and programs, including medical practice review, governance, credentialing, privileging, peer review, medical information systems, and telemedicine opportunities. * Formulates and implements operational strategies and initiatives, including patient safety, performance improvement and physician recruitment. * Oversees operations, budget, financial targets, and human resources management. * Assists in evaluating new business opportunities by actively engaging in strategic planning for business plan development. Monitors market trends, market share data and physician practices to look for opportunities for business growth. Implements new clinical initiatives and business plans as directed as the executive lead. * Directs and oversees process for counseling and managing issues of physician professional conduct. Ensures adherence and completion of medical staff decisions regarding peer review and physician behavioral issues Leads the development of continuing medical education (CME), and other relevant education programs for medical staff * Provides consultative support to graduate and under-graduate medical education programs as applicable. Works collaboratively with GME and Dell Medical School leadership to insure alignment between training and hospital operational priorities. * Works collaboratively with other staff to provide necessary clinical support services to facilities and medical staff. Assumes administrative leadership as mutually agreed. * Ensures licensing and other governmental and regulatory requirements. Participates in surveys and inspections by accrediting/licensure bodies. * Assists in investigating complaints, incidents, claims of malpractice and/or negligence on the art of hospital personnel and medical staff. * Monitors major issues and trends in the practice of medicine and area of health policy advising medical staff and executive leadership in relation to organization activities. * Serves as an advocate, intermediary and facilitator with external regulators for regulatory matters. Facilitates system training and implementation for physicians and assists in development of training modules and other EMR features. * Facilitates development, training and implementation of High Reliability Organization principles for physician activities. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Credential(s): * Licensed Physician MD/DO obtained prior hire date or job transfer date. Education: * Completion of an accredited medical school is required upon date of hire or job transfer date. * Master's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Improvement Science or a related field is preferred Work Experience: * Requires 5 years' experience in Physician Executive leadership in a hospital setting. * Additional experience in voluntary Medical Staff leadership is preferred. * Experience working in an academic medical environment is highly preferred. Ideally, experience working with multiple GME programs preferred.
