As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. Casual position. Operates computerized tomography (CT) to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatments of pathologies.

Selects appropriate imaging techniques, operates console, and peripheral hardware. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of patient care.

This is a casual position. Shifts can be anytime during our hours of operation. Hours of operation are 6:00 AM, to 7:30 PM, M-F, and 7:00 AM, to 3:30 PM, Saturdays.

In order to qualify for this role, you must possess:

  • Associates degree or graduate of an accredited radiologic health science program, ARRT registered, and currently licensed RT(R) (CT): (CT) preferred or technologist will complete advanced ARRT registration in CT within one year. Remains current in new technologies as they become available.

  • One year of radiology experience with CT emphasis. Experience with the correct administration of contrast agents.

    Ability to establish IV access proficiently and safely across a varied range of patients. Demonstration of high quality patient care and customer service skills is required.

Preferred:

  • ARRT registered RT (CT) with Siemens platform experience.

  • Three years of CT experience in an ambulatory care center or hospital.

  • PACS knowledge.

Position Summary/Primary Duty: The Radiologic Technologist functions independently within the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The technologist performs a wide variety of complex diagnostic testing in the disciplines of radiology, quality assurance, and bone densitometry. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. The Radiologic Technologist is a member of the healthcare team and performs additional technical skills as defined by the clinical setting. Minimum Requirements: * Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree in Radiation Technology. * Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology or eligible to take examination within 90 days. * 10 months of radiology experience * Understanding of current Minnesota Department of Health Regulations. * Knowledge of quality control and safety standards. * Good interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Requirements: * Certification for Bone Densitometry * Current Mammographic Certification as required by the ARRT/MQSA.
