Performs duties involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for detecting pathology not limited to arteriogram, computerized tomography, etc.

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology.

  • Active primary Radiography registry through the ARRT(R ) or NMTCB and actively working to achieve the primary ARRT(R ) (CT) or NMTCB (CT) registry status within twelve months of hire or required completion of three month training course and clinical hours provided by Baptist Health.

  • Must possess reasoning and good independent judgment.

  • Must have the ability to work within rigid time constraints.

  • Must be aware of patient conditions at all times.

  • Must demonstrate effective communication skills.

To learn more about Baptist Health, visit us at https://www.baptistfirst.org. The Cardiac Technician assists the nursing staff in monitoring the heart rhythms of patients on telemetry. The ability to interpret dysrhythmias and respond quickly and appropriately in the notification of nursing staff is essential. Some record keeping and posting of rhythm strips may be required. This position is also responsible for working as a team member within the non Invasive Cardiology area to perform electrocardiographs and stress test procedures. This position is also responsible for the clerical operation of the EKG area. Clerical functions include preparation of data for physician interpretation, transcription, filing and reporting to the medical record. * High School graduate or equivalent required. Prior training in EKG rhythm strip interpretation preferred. Successful completion of an EKG interpretation course and able to score 100% on rhythm strip exam required within 6 weeks in position. Successful completion of the Basic Life Support (BLS) program.Ability to interact with customers, peers, physicians, and other hospital staff in a professional manner.None Baptist Health - Alabama Montgomery AL
