CSU East Bay - Career Exploration Recruitment Specialist

If so, you might be the Career Exploration Recruitment Specialist CSU East Bay's (CSUEB) College of Science seeks! The College of Science works with CSUEB's Career Awareness Program, Internship Coordinator, Center for Student Research, and local STEM employers to provide students with a variety of critical, high-quality career exploration experiences including faculty-mentored research and external paid internships. This role is part of the CSU STEM VISTA program.

As a member of this cohort, you will take part in a learning community of VISTAs across the California State University system. Our one-year program is designed to promote your growth professionally and personally as you create and enhance programs for STEM students. All projects within CSU STEM VISTA are focused on eliminating race, class, and gender disparities in STEM undergraduate degree and STEM Teacher credential programs.

You will be trained to utilize sustainable, asset-based approaches that engage students of color, students from low-income communities, and students who are the first in their families to attend college. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.

Member Duties : As the Career Exploration Recruitment Specialist, the VISTA will develop sustainable infrastructure to support equitable access to mentored research opportunities and internships. This may include collection, analysis, and use of participant data; developing communication channels; and building summer bridge/research peer-mentor programs.
