We are looking for a talented CSE Digital Tools
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
This applied technology position creates electronic tools that are used to create embedded software, or manufacture and service Cummins' products. People in these positions will have involvement in specification, design, implementation, testing and/or release of tools.
Investigates electronic tools problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and documents results with guidance from more experienced team members.
Applies and supports the improvement of electronic tools development processes and tools. Processes include Electronic Tools Product Line (ETPL) common workflow, 7 step problem solving, application product development (requirements, design, development test, support). Tools include platform specific compilers and toolsets for Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, software lifecycle tools (such as Integrity) and requirements management (Integrity, Doors), configuration/change management.
Obtains input and negotiates with product and software development teams and delivers verified software features, components, builds and support to product teams and end users.
Makes decisions in the areas of software architecture, requirements, design, and test that impact product and feature design.
Responsible for review of less-experienced developers/testers' work to ensure robust, reusable, and efficient design
Provides independent leadership of smaller business impact projects or ownership of complex components, products, systems or services with greater elements of ambiguity over the senior or lead engineer level and with full accountability to the project team.
Delivers independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge.
Leads the development and improvement of work processes and systems across a functional discipline area within a business unit site.
Coordinates and directs work amongst technicians and temporary student employees, assists in the transfer of knowledge to lesser experienced engineers through either indirect (scope of influence) or direct management of a small, local group of engineers.
Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.
Operates as a recognized specialist in a discipline or product area within the immediate team.
Qualifications
Skills
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
4 years of software development experience with SpringBoot Java / C# .NET / Oracle DB / MS SQL DB / Angular
Experience in WPF, WCF, Telerik, IIS, SQL Server, REST API, Visual Studio 2017, Visual Studio Code, automated test framework
Knowledge in developing applications utilizing Object Oriented programming, design and architecture principles, data structures and algorithms, database design and optimization.
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred
Perform all phases of SDLC including but not limited to analysis, design, implementation, testing
Design, build and maintain efficient and reliable software code following industry standard coding practices, design pattern and code reviews
Deliver work as per Agile Scrum (SPRINTs), communicate and resolve roadblocks in a timely manner as per the plan
Collaborate with global team to develop key software applications to enable Cummins deliver calibration software
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
Base salary range: $84,800 - $127,200
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
