Job Description:

Employee performs as a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst providing functional testing services for the child support systems, Indiana Support Enforcement Tracking System (ISETS) and ancillary Child Support applications. The QA Analyst develops and executes tests on the child support software applications prior to their implementation to production to ensure quality, design integrity, and proper functionality. Employee works in the Department of Child Services, Child Support Bureau's IT Office supporting the Child Support Bureau (CSB) systems and reports to Quality Assurance Manager (CSB-IT Testing Manager) or higher level staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes business requirements, functional and technical designs to develop test strategy for assigned projects;

  • Provides project related estimates for assigned tasks;

  • Creates manual functional test plan, including test cases, test scripts and test data for assigned projects;

  • Conducts testing to ensure that all CSB-IT systems, products, and services meet requirements and quality standards;

  • Acts as technical expert and information resource concerning assigned areas;

  • Facilitates support for acceptance testing efforts;

  • Creates and maintains a reusable test script library using specified templates in Rational QM;

  • Reports project task status to the CSB-IT Test Team Supervisor, appropriate lead and/or project manager;

  • Promotes the utilization of current governance processes and tools;

  • Provides requested weekly/bi-weekly/monthly reports and regular updates to CSB-IT Test Team Supervisor;

  • Recommends new/improved testing practices and procedures;

  • Assists other IT staff with test related tasks;

  • Performs related duties as assigned;

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of SDLC and Testing Methodologies;

  • Thorough knowledge of testing and reporting procedures and practices;

  • Solid mainframe testing experience;

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;

  • Prefer knowledge of the Child Support Enforcement systems and Child Support requirements;

  • Prefer working knowledge of the IBM Rational tool suite;

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems or assist in the development of creative solutions, when necessary;

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;

  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience;

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for supporting the planning, design and execution of system testing on simple to compels implementations. The QA Analyst works collaboratively with the application development and business units to validate acceptance criteria, assess the quality of releasable software and create automated scripts, when needed, that quickly assess the quality of the software. Responsibilities: * Evaluates and tests software applications for usability and functionality * Help determine if stories and their acceptance criteria are well defined and if they satisfy customer requirements * Execute acceptance test developed from user stories and their associated acceptance criteria * Evaluate application quality through testing application builds including, but not limited to, manual function testing, and automated and manual regression testing. * Document bugs and issues identified in the QA and UAT environment through the use of Jira and Smartsheet * Perform accessibility testing on applicable systems * Demonstrate ability to perform root cause analysis Qualifications: * Requires a bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience, in area of specialty. * 3+ years of experience in testing software * Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously * Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies * Experience in software function testing * Experience in systems analysis * Experience in writing and communicating test cases * Understanding of both Agile and Waterfall software development methodologies * Experience using Jira and Zephyr preferred Cspring Indianapolis IN
