The Clinical Behavioral Health Program (CBHP) is looking for a Clinical Services Caseworker (Therapist II) to help assist adults that have a serious mental illness and co-occurring issues with their Case Coordination needs while waiting to get into services.

We are located within easy commuting distance from Washington, D. C., Northern Virginia and Stafford County. This position qualifies for a hiring bonus of $5,000. This bonus will be paid in two equal installments as funds permit. The first installment of $2,500 is payable upon the County's first regular pay date following your position start and the final $2,500 installment will be payable on the pay date following the completion of probation.

In this position you will:

  • Provide mental health and co-occurring case coordination to adult clients, both in the office and in the community.

  • Provide coordination services to include monitoring waitlist clients for adults with varying degrees of psychiatric issues.

  • Case coordination services to include assessment, linkage and coordination with other service providers

  • Assist with case coordination and risk management monitoring.

  • Provide crisis intervention for clients, including those at high risk for suicide/homicide-under supervisory guidance.

  • Evaluate risk and potential need for hospitalization.

  • Maintain clinical records according to agency policies and procedures.

  • Prepare and presents case presentations for clinical supervision.

  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities. All services are provided under supervisory guidance.

  • Complete written reports for the judicial system and public agencies.

  • Consult and collaborates with other professionals and agencies, including Medicaid, probation, social services, physicians, psychiatrists and private providers.

  • Document all service coordination.

PREFERENCES:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral science field.

  • Must be a qualified mental health professional and hold an active Board Certified QMHP-A.

  • 2-3 years of experience providing individual/group therapy services in a human services environment.

  • Experience providing therapeutic services and case coordination to adults and their families with mental health/serious mental illness, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.

  • Experience collaborating with other agencies and service providers.

  • Knowledge of psychotropic medications and medically assisted treatment protocols.

  • Experience providing clinical assessments and referrals.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid driver's license;

Must pass DMV record check;

Must pass TB test;

Certification in First Aid and Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation, as required;

Must be eligible to obtain a QMHP-A within 30 days of Hire or have an active certification of a QMHP-A.

Offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate passing a fingerprinted-based national criminal history record check.

Child Protective Services Requirements: Effective 1999, mandated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services 12VA35-105-400 rules and Regulations for Licensing Providers by the Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services related to Criminal Registry Checks, a search of the registry of founded complaints of child abuse and neglected maintained by the Department of Social Services.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: Monday - Friday

STARTING SALARY RANGE:$74,217.00 - $88,167.00
