Job Summary

Description

This position is an integral part of the Crude Oil and NGL marketing team that is responsible for generating value through physical deal making and asset optimization. This individual should be familiar with Crude Oil marketing and/or trading activities and the infrastructure within multiple regions to facilitate the efficient marketing of production. The incumbent is also responsible for developing a market view on relevant crude spreads (Midland/MEH, Brent/WTI, time spreads) and trade physical and financial positions around this view.

Job Description

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Trade spot bulk in West TX hubs (Midland, Wink, Crane, Col City)

  • Optimize supply for WTX long-haul transport

  • Trade Houston hubs (MEH and ECHO )

  • Support and back-up GC cargo business

  • Trade paper positions in support of physical marketing efforts

  • Performs market analysis and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) related to regional markets

  • Collects market intelligence and performs competitor analysis

  • Develop trade strategies in areas of responsibility and guides other traders in the execution

  • Maximizes netbacks and minimizes deficiency risk

  • Creates additional value through asset optimization and deal making

  • Collaborates with analyst team to develop market and trade view

  • Collaborates with regional directors and traders on trade strategies

  • Anticipates problems and makes decisions based on sound business principles

  • Consistently delivers on commitments and provides quality deliverables

  • Responds inventively, flexibly, and positively when faced with challenges and demands

  • Communicates effectively, fosters relationships, and provides superior customer service to internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals

  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and collaborates across organizational boundaries to achieve targets

  • Identifies data relationships and analyzes complex or diverse information to develop alternative solutions

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • 7 or more years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams

  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred:

  • 7 or more years of experience in industry infrastructure and commodity markets

  • 5 or more years of experience in liquids marketing or related role

  • Well-developed network of industry contacts

  • Demonstrates market analysis expertise

  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on dedications by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right

  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals

  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
