SUMMARY:Work under minimal supervision to assist children and others to safely cross the street at assigned intersections during designated hours.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Assist students and parents in crossing the street
Report any areas of concern to the campus
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor
Utilize effective communication skills; ensure that all interactions are supportive, courteous, and

Comply with all policies, operating procedures, legal requirements, and verbal and written

QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
None
SPECIAL KNOWLEGDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of pedestrian safety rules and vehicular laws
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions
Ability to identify and respond quickly to traffic safety hazards
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:None
MENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Tools/Equipment Used:Hand-held traffic signs, traffic cones, reflective safety attire
Posture:Prolonged standing
Motion:Constant walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching
Lifting:Light lifting (less than 15 pounds)
Environment:Work outside (prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, sunlight, and humidity); constant exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; work around moving vehicles and on slippery and uneven surfaces
