Primary Job Duties

As a Cross Utilized Agent, you are responsible for ticketing and re-booking passengers, boarding flights, assisting passengers with special needs, processing baggage between baggage areas in the airport facilities and aircraft, receiving and dispatching aircraft.

  • Load/unload customer luggage, airfreight and company mail on/off aircraft

  • Greet passengers, issue tickets, provide seat assignments, check baggage, board flights, re-book passengers, all in a prompt and friendly manner

  • Escort passengers and special needs customers safely and courteously

  • Marshall aircraft in and out of the ramp area

  • Service aircraft as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • US citizen or show proof of right to work in US

  • Must possess a valid driver license

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Ability to lift 60+ pounds consistently, with or without a reasonable accommodation

  • Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays

  • Attend 4 days of Basic Station training

  • Attend 3 weeks of Customer Service training (date to be determined)

  • Type 30 words per minute (Preferred)

Officers operate specialized equipment such as two-way radios and firearms. Minimum Qualifications The James River Correctional Center is looking for individuals who are confident, assertive, independent, and act with integrity. Officers must use good judgment, utilize and rely on training to maintain composure in emergency situations, maintain constant awareness of their surroundings, work cooperatively with others as part of a team, be motivated and follow-though with work assignments, and communicate effectively. Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of work experience in corrections, security, law enforcement, or military police. College level coursework may substitute for the work experience requirement on a year for year basis. To be considered for a position, applicants must possess certain basic skills, including the ability to: * Accurately observe and recall surroundings and events; * Communicate information clearly, concisely, and accurately, even in a crisis situation; * Read, write, understand, and apply written instructions in English; * Complete inmate counts accurately and transcribe count data on paper; * complete basic computer related tasks; * Maintain focus and remain positive and composed during a crisis; and * Make ethical and professional decisions. If unable to find qualified applicants, we will consider under filling as a Correctional Officer I with a salary of $17.88 per hour. Requires a high school diploma or GED. The employment offer is based on the condition that you successfully pass a pre-employment (prior to start date) physical examination, drug testing, REACT Testing (2-hour video testing that is a useful and valid component for any job where incumbents interact with offenders.
