CGB DS consists of 2 areas

  • DSA, the internal agency which sells policies and DCIS, the operations unit that services the policies. CGB Diversified Services is now the fastest growing crop insurance provider in the country, but we have never lost sight of what is truly important - the farmers we serve.

This job is responsible for processing both multi-peril crop insurance (MPCI) and crop hail claims while providing World Class Service to policyholders and agents.

In this job, you will:

  • Accurately and timely process basic to complex claims in assigned territories.

  • Read, analyze, interpret and follow rules and guidelines on processing claims.

  • Identify and present ways to improve claims processing and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to agents, adjusters and farmers/ranchers.

  • Assist with training at MPCI Adjuster and Hail schools/trainings and claims processing training.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience

Preferred

  • Degree in Agriculture or Business.

Experience

  • Crop Insurance experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn) claims processing and organization service standards.

  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn) company policies, procedures, and related software.

  • Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.

  • Excellent customer service skills with ability to keep customers as the top priority.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Physical Demands & Requirements

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Ability to sit and/or stand continuously.

Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Environmental Conditions

The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment.

Travel may be required for trainings and meetings; initial training may require 2-3 weeks of travel at various office locations.

Are you an experienced crop insurance adjuster who is looking to join an innovative and dynamic organization? If so, this could be the job for YOU! This job is primarily responsible for adjusting both multi-peril crop insurance (MPCI) and private products claims within a given territory. Servicing customers (both policyholders and agents) is the top priority. In this job, you will: Actual responsibilities will vary depending on daily needs and type of customer supported. * Build and maintain professional relationships with policyholders, agents, and other adjusters. * Record and transmit loss information to accurately determine potential damages in accordance to established loss adjustment procedures. * Complete field inspections, read maps, measure fields and storage bins. * Utilize company software. * Follow FCIS, State, and company rules and regulations, policies, and procedures. * Report to an Area Claims Supervisor. * Work out of a home office. * Complete initial and ongoing training as required by FCIC and State Regulations. * Ability to read maps and aerial photographs. * Measure fields and storage bins. * Discuss findings of crop loss with farmers. * Perform fact-finding and investigate crop damage, record information, and transmit information to accurately determine potential indemnities. * Other duties as assigned. Here's what you'll need to be considered: Education Required - High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred - Bachelor's degree in agriculture. Experience Required - None. Preferred - 2 years' experience handling crop insurance claims. License/Certification Required - Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Required - CAPP License.
