JOB SUMMARY

The Crisis Response Worker has direct contact and is responsible for the delivery, coordination, and documentation ofshort-term, intensive mental health services provided during a mental health crisis or emergency.The Crisis Response Worker, under clinical supervisor if not independently clinically licensed, coordinates the delivery of program services including Crisis Assessment, Intervention and Stabilization. TheCrisis Response Worker mustbe experienced in, and have knowledge of mental health assessment, treatment engagement strategies, engagement of recipients support system, crisis intervention techniques and emergency clinical decision-making abilities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is casual (as needed).

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a valid class D driver's license & insurance. Must maintain a good driving record and have access to personal vehicle and willingness to use the vehicle in carrying out position responsibilities.

Relevant experience in providing mental health services; good written and verbal communication skills; organizational skills; and the ability to work independently in an effective and efficient manner. Must haveat least 30 hours of crisis intervention and stabilization training during the past two years and

meet MN Department of Human Services requirements for Mental Health Practitioner: Master's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university or a Bachelor's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences with at least 2000 hours ofsupervisedexperience in the delivery of mental health services to individuals with mental illness, or 6,000 hoursof supervised experiencein the delivery ofmental healthservices to individuals with mental illness.

Patient sensitivity and confidentiality are a must, and are practiced at all times. Combine communication skills and patient handling. On a continuum the driver must develop an understanding of the patients physical and emotional status. Works with all ages of patients. Transports safely and as scheduled. Assures that all support equipment are well maintained and in good operating condition. Sets up equipment according to manufacturers recommendations and Sanford policy. Maintains appropriate records per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and Sanford required reports. Aware and communicates scheduling conflicts as needed or predicted. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate with dispatchers by radio, telephone, or computer to exchange information and receive requests for passenger service. Complete accident reports when necessary. Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation and ensure that passengers follow safety regulations. Notify dispatchers or company mechanics of vehicle problems. Operate vehicles with specialized equipment, such as wheelchair lifts, to transport and secure passengers with special needs. Perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil, and water. Provide passengers with assistance entering and exiting vehicles and help them with any luggage. Test vehicle equipment, such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure proper operation. Vacuum and clean interiors and wash and polish exteriors of automobiles. DEPARTMENT DETAILS QUALIFICATIONS The employee must have a current valid drivers license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category II drivers. CPR certification required. If not certified at time of hire, must be certified within 6 months. Training will be provided. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be 21 years of age or older and have excellent customer service skills. Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability.
