The Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) staff member is recognized as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) and will serve on a mobile crisis team to provide crisis assessment and evaluation in the community. The MHP requires on-call rotation for day/night and weekends to ensure coverage 24/7. The work involves determining level of risk and assessment of suicidal behavior and lethality. The MHP will provide referrals for treatment, case planning for client and their families while maintaining all necessary documentation of a client's involvement in treatment. In addition, this position also requires clinical interactions with an interdisciplinary team provides assistance to the Manager and participates in the multidisciplinary team planning. Supervision is provided by the manager, Crisis Services.

Responsibilities
Client/Patient Care
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Implement the principles of Trauma Informed Care (TIC) while providing an in-depth
Assessment and formulating a diagnosis for each consumer in crisis.
Complete mental health and substance use assessments/evaluation to individuals in crisis.
Contact physician/provider/ED for disposition recommendations and document in record.
Provide case management support, such as assisting team to locate available facilities within and outside of local community, obtaining insurance authorizations, assisting consumers to connect to community resources, and communicating with assigned RYC Clinicians.
This position is responsible for providing direct evaluation, counseling and education services to individuals in treatment.
Requires On-Call rotation for nights and weekends to provide 24/7 coverage.
Will provide direct substance abuse assessment, intervention, individual counseling, group counseling, and develop treatment plans, education and consultation services to identified clients, family, and support systems to promote recovery.
Will follow conformance with standards set by local, state, and federal agencies (IL HFS, IL DMH, DASA rule 2060, Federal Probation guidelines, DEA, CARF, IAC, and DNV standards)
Be knowledgeable of all regional substance abuse facilities and services to assist in coordinating care for clients.
Consult with in-house staff and other outside professionals to assure comprehensive, quality care for the client.
Care Coordination
Responsible for referral and case management activities, including facilitating referrals for additional services, participation in team meetings, coordinating care with community resources, etc.
Provide information to Third Party payers.
Documentation
Documentation of services provided by maintaining accurate client record reflecting services provided and recommended follow up.
Qualifications
Education:
Experience:
License(s)/Certification(s):
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
Bachelor's degree in human services or related field
Specialized training in mental health or psychiatric services or at least 2 years of experience in these areas
Valid driver's license required.
Professional license in the state of Illinois or Iowa not required.
CPR, within 6 months of hire
First Aid Training, within 6 months of hire
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), within 6 months of hire then, annually
Annual education as assigned, within 6 months of hire then, annually
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must have thorough knowledge of human behavior and performance for the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders. Specific knowledge necessary for working with special populations (i.e. adolescent developmental issues).
Must have thorough knowledge of the federal drug and alcohol confidentiality law (42 C.F.R. Part 2) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
Must have considerable knowledge of the signs and symptoms of substance use disorders including pharmacological factors.
Must have considerable knowledge of the current American Society of Addiction Medicine patient placement criteria and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual as it relates to substance-related disorders or able to acquire the knowledge.
Must have knowledge of different approaches to counseling and accepted clinical practices.
Must have knowledge of the Code of Ethics for substance abuse counselors.
Ability to perform the core functions accepted for Behavioral Health Professionals.
Able to separate therapy and counseling from completing an assessment to create a safe disposition related to current presentation reasons/needs.

Able to work in multiple computer applications (i.e. Vision Works, EPIC). Recognizes signs of suicidal behavior, able to assess for lethality.
