The Criminal Justice & Social Sciences Department at UW-Platteville offers undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice, Forensic Investigation, and Political Science, with emphasis in Corrections, Law Enforcement, Crime Scene, and Laboratory. Additionally we offer several minors including Ethnic Studies, International Studies, Sociology, and Women's and Gender Studies.

We are currently looking to establish a pool of candidates who are interested in teaching courses as the opportunities arise. We will call on candidates as needs arise based on enrollment.

The ideal instructor is passionate about teaching undergraduate students and interested in interdisciplinary course instruction and design.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in criminal justice and social sciences.

  • Ability to engage modern pedagogy to teach undergraduate students through field, classroom, and laboratory settings.

  • Willingness, interest, or experience in cross-disciplinary collaborations.

  • Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with colleagues to complete tasks and goals.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Master's degree in criminal justice, social work, sociology/criminology, psychology or related field.

  • Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and a willingness to collaborate with both students and faculty.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience teaching undergraduate courses during graduate school (an instructor of record supervising is acceptable) or at least two semesters as a graduate teaching assistant for a lab, leading sections, OR two years' industry related experience.

The Criminal Justice Department, in the College of Liberal Arts and Education offers a campus and online undergraduate and graduate degree in Criminal Justice. UW-Platteville offers two nationally known, industry-leading programs: Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation. Additionally, we offer several minors as well as certificate programs in Child Advocacy Studies, Ethnic Studies, Law, and Women's and Gender Studies.
