Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a 1st shift Crib / MRO Asset Manager for our industrial operations & maintenance team in Decatur, IL!

  • Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00pm 3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: driving cost reduction through inventory and equipment reliability tracking. This position will track inventoried maintenance spares and repairs leaving and returning to stock.


  • Identifies and resolves problems that may cause delay of delivery of goods to the point of use, whether the problem is internal or caused by the supplier or the sub-suppliers.

  • Schedule and manage activities of site MRO Crib Attendants to ensure adequate staffing coverage to meet customer needs and to maintain supervisory functions (establish training needs, evaluate performance, maintain positive employee relations, etc.)

  • Oversees / performs cycle counts and inventory accuracy.

  • Undertake periodic cycle and full inventory count efforts as directed by management.

  • Create reports on KPIs using MS Office tools, including Word and Excel, and Crystal Reports

  • Maintains a professional relationship with suppliers and Customers that motivates compliance, promotes improved performance, and avoids compromising responsibility.

  • Keeps materials management adequately advised of significant issues or changes in order status, with particular attention to any problem areas.

  • Responsible for Disposition of unwanted material and equipment.

  • Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.

  • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

  • Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, fork trucks and wheel loaders to perform work.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

Minimum Requirements

1.Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or Facilities Management or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. (

8 years of experience related to crib management or purchasing in an industrial setting will be considered demonstrated equivalent in experience with no college education .)

2.Valid Drivers License.

3.Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.

Additional Information:

  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

1.Two years of experience in maintenance, repair, and operations asset management (MRO / Logistics)

2.Experience tracking KPIs for maintenance leadership to include MTTR, MTBF, and Down Equipment hours

3.Experience measuring and improving maintenance indirect materials inventory stock outs, turns, carrying cost, and percentage of downtime from part availability

4.Customer service experience in an industrial manufacturing or R&D environment

5.Experience recognizing and determining solutions, including opportunities for improved asset reliability, improved quality results, safer work conditions, and reduced maintenance cost and improved work plans to increase efficiency.

6.Experience in creating Power Point presentation and giving presentation in front of large audiences

7.Experience with the development and training of a multi-skilled Crib Attendants

8.Experience utilizing Continuous Improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 4 Ms, etc.

9.Experience working under a structured safety program
