The full salary range is: $43,285-$77,458. Work Schedule:  Either Monday through Thursday 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM or Tuesday through Friday 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Schedule is subject to change as needed.

Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:

This Crew Supervisor (Concrete) will be a working supervisor on a Street Maintenance Crew. This employee will be responsible for the construction and maintenance of City streets infrastructure, managing multiple projects, managing and coaching team members, and other duties involving work management documentation and personnel matters, i.e., employee development and training, etc. The primary focus of this crew is to perform concrete forming and finishing on a variety of projects such as sidewalks, curbs and gutters, traffic islands, etc. The individual in this position must have knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations relating to general construction. This person will also be responsible for ensuring that all OSHA and Field Operations Department safety rules and policies are followed for the safety of all employees.

This individual should be familiar with standard operating procedures of construction and have the ability to install systems based on construction drawings. This individual must have good verbal communication and writing skills and be able to follow and convey both verbal and written instructions. The City of Greensboro pays employees Bi-weekly, and the position is assigned to a 40-hour work schedule, which is typically Monday through Thursday or Tuesday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This schedule is subject to change during a holiday week or for emergency service which may require working a flexible schedule with little or no notice and may include weekends, nights, or holidays. This individual must have good attendance and maintain a reliable means of contact (i.e. home or cellular telephone). The physical requirements of the job are standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, shoveling, and heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. Work is performed outside in all weather conditions. This individual must acquire a Commercial Driver's Permit within 30 days and acquire and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement within 120 days of employment. This employee may be assigned to the snow and ice removal program and will be subject to working 12-hour shifts during winter or other weather-related events.

This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED with 1-3 years of experience in concrete forming and finishing

• "OR" No High School Diploma / GED with 5-7 years of experience in concrete forming and finishing

• Valid driver's license

• Experience reading blueprints, cut sheets, or other related drawings

• Experience using Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• Previous supervisory experience

An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):

• Experience using a work management system such as EAM, Cityworks Etc.

• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License

• Foundations of Supervision (FOS) or other supervisory training
