The Credit Risk Software Engineer position will assume the following responsibilities:
Design and implement: (i) Credit production processes, (ii) End-user analytic tools, and (iii) Credit loss forecast models.
Manage the software lifecycle including updates leveraging newer technologies, while fulfilling the requirements of various bank stakeholders.
Provide leadership in advancing: (i) Agile development, (ii) Process automation, (iii) Programming best practices and techniques within the team.
Work collaboratively with other bank teams, including: (i) Risk Management, (ii) Finance, (iii) Treasury, and (iv) Line of business Risk Owners.
Develop applications and solutions to analytical, implementation, and/or execution problems.
Maintain and enhance production risk management infrastructure, including: (i) Analytic models, and (ii) Data inventories.
Automate periodic risk reports/presentations on the following: (i) Key risk levels, (ii) Trends, (iii) Strategies, and (iv) Potential issues.
Bachelor's degree required (prefer Masters) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent degree).
3+ years of experience with two or more of the following programming languages: R, Python, C++, SAS, MATLAB, and version control system such as git.
Solid understanding of agile development and programming best practices. Passion for writing clean code.
Experience with cloud computing (e.g. AWS).
Project management knowledge coupled with the ability to work efficiently within a team.
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving abilities.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Understanding of statistical modeling techniques and elements of machine learning a plus.
Strong work accuracy and personal reliability.
