We are currently looking for a Credit Risk Management Analyst to join our Credit Risk team.

Summary Description

The Credit Risk Management Analyst (CRM Analyst) works closely with the VP Credit Risk Manager (VP CRM) and other stakeholders in managing enterprise credit risk and other loan portfolio related activities. The CRM Analyst will play a key role in identifying, measuring, and monitoring risk, as well as maintaining bank lending policies.

This is an opportunity to gain exposure to risk management for a $2+ billion real estate loan portfolio. The CRM Analyst will primarily split their time between the bank's single family residential (Non-QM mortgages), construction and land development, and CRE portfolios. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in credit risk, strong analytical ability, intellectual curiosity, and excellent communication skills.

What you can expect to work on

Risk Monitoring, Reporting, and Analytics

  • Stays abreast of market trends, changing economic outlooks, and other emerging risks to evaluate impact to the overall portfolio.

  • Participate in the development, execution, and accuracy of recurring MIS reporting related to bank asset quality.

  • Apply sensitivity analysis, stress testing, market trend, and other analytical methodologies to anticipate credit trends or deterioration and obtain insights into portfolio performance and market opportunities in an attempt to identify and mitigate potential credit exposure to the portfolio.

  • Contribute to key credit risk management functions, including the ACL/CECL, portfolio stress testing, concentrations, underwriting exceptions, risk ratings (including internal/external loan review), and problem loan management (as needed).

  • Participate in various risk presentations for Senior Management and/or the Board that include portfolio activities, analytics of risk, performance, emerging trends, and opportunities.

  • Assist in the pre-purchase and ongoing monitoring of corporate securities portfolio.

Maintaining Lending Policy

  • In conjunction with the VP CRM, keep lending policies, procedures, underwriting guides, and product matrices up to date. Adjusts as necessary to align with current lending activities, risk profile, regulatory requirements, and general industry best practices.

  • Maintain appropriate exception tracking processes that align with lending product offerings, risk profile, and business needs. Regularly track policy exceptions that will provide meaningful feedback to understand credit portfolio risk, future potential credit problems, and provide feedback for Lending Policy and Underwriting enhancements.

  • Serve as back-up for several key credit risk management functions (ACL/CECL, portfolio stress testing, exception tracking, etc.) for business continuity purposes.

  • Lead ad-hoc projects or other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent years of experience
  • 5 years of industry experience

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of credit risk frameworks, including regulatory expectations and industry best practice

  • Solid understanding of the following loan types: construction, land development, commercial real estate, and non-conforming residential real estate (owner-occupied and investment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods.

  • Ability to conduct keyboard/computer work for extensive periods.

  • Ability to communicate clearly (understand/be understood) with customers in person or over the phone/computer.

Work Environment

This position will be a hybrid-based schedule with a combination of in-office 3 days and remote work 2 days per week, based out of our 435 office.
