Credit Risk Analyst

Purchasing Power one of Atlanta's fastest growing e-retailers is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The Credit Risk Analyst, reporting directly to the Credit Risk Manager, responsible for analyzing and assessing the potential credit risk of an assigned book of clients through data analysis and proforma projections as well as underwriting potential new clients. The position will also work closely with the other areas of Risk, Sales, and Operations to drive key initiatives for risk management and the company's continued profitable growth.

What you'll do (Duties)

  • Monitoring credit performance of an assigned portfolio of clients, driving program structure to mitigate loss

  • Evaluating trends in data to promptly identify and report areas of concern, determining courses of action to mitigate identified risks and/or concerns

  • Acting as a trusted partner of Sales and Client Management teams to assist in administration of client needs

  • Reviewing and analyzing new client requests to determine financial and non-financial strengths, risk levels, and feasibility of proposed relationships

  • Clearly and succinctly convey underwriting decisions to sales partners and assist with coaching sales staff regarding risk related concerns

  • Adhere to all policies procedures, processes, company practices, guidelines, expectations, laws and regulations

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field

  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial underwriting, credit risk analysis, or financial analysis

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Strong relationship building skills to work effectively across all areas of the business

  • Proficient in MS Office products, particularly Excel

  • Exposure to at least one high-level programing language such as SAS, Python, or SQL preferred but not required

The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The Credit and PPNR Modeling (CaPM) Center of Excellence (COE) is a unit within Corporate Credit and is responsible for development and implementation of the following model types: * Credit loss estimation models for the entire loan portfolio to support for Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL); estimation of risk weighted assets (RWA) in compliance with Basel regulations; and, economically sensitive credit loss estimation in compliance with Dodd Frank and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review exercises (CCAR). * Models to support Pre-Provision Net Revenue (PPNR) estimates including forecasting models to support Dodd Frank and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review exercises (CCAR). Model Operations and Controls (MOC) is an independent team within the CaPM COE, which focuses on coordinating workflow throughout the model lifecycle process, providing oversight of all CaPM controls, managing interactions with oversight groups, supporting and maintaining CaPM computing infrastructure - all necessary to ensure the ongoing success of the greater CaPM team. CaPM is seeking an individual to join the MOC team with the focus on process/audit support and controls framework. This position will focus on providing support to the Retail, and/or PPNR modeling teams, model governance, model issue remediation and tracking, and project management. The position will work closely with business partners to support model development, implementation, execution, performance monitoring, and reporting of Credit and PPNR models. The position will also facilitate audits and other governance items. This position joins a high functioning, high profile team and requires the presence and professional demeanor necessary to interact effectively with team members across CaPM, Lines of Business (LOB), model governance, oversight, validation, and audit organizations, as well as strong documentation capabilities that can effectively convey complex processes. The candidate must possess organizational and prioritization skills, as well as strong attention to detail. This role will require critical thinking and a tactical approach to problem solving. Specific responsibilities include: * Support efforts related to G&O, COSO, and EUCT compliance.
