ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Banker in the preliminary due diligence efforts in consideration of each new loan request or loan modification.
Spread and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other financial documents to determine the financial condition of commercial banking borrowers and guarantors. Complete a cash flow analysis based on the type of borrower and loan product.
Identify and analyze each source of repayment supporting the loan, and any factors which may impact each source of repayment.
Identify the primary risks associated with the relationship or request, and articulate appropriate mitigating factors for each risk.
Attend or coordinate meetings with existing or prospect members when necessary.
Assist in the completion of the Credit Approval Report ("CAR") supporting each loan request. Identify and mitigate any exceptions to loan policy or underwriting guidelines, summarize the identified source of repayment, and assess the Risk Grade assigned to each loan. Review the completed CAR to ensure all terms and conditions are correct and the supporting analysis is consistent with the terms proposed to ensure an efficient response from the approving officer or loan committee.
Work closely with the Banking Officer and Relationship Specialist in the monitoring of the loan portfolio, and share responsibility for ensuring all financial statements and loan documents are appropriately filed in the Bank's file of record. Coordinate with TowneBank's Credit Support Group in the monitoring of borrowing bases, financial covenants and other requirements set forth in the Credit Management Plan ("CMP").
Support Credit Administration's risk management responsibilities, including the clearing of loan exceptions, the completion of Problem Asset Reports ("PARs"), and the ongoing review of the Bank's loan portfolio.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and prioritize daily responsibilities with minimal management oversight and/or limited instruction.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with internal and external Members.
Solid understanding of business and personal financial statements and tax returns.
High degree of attention to detail in order to ensure complete and accurate work.
Adaptability to continuous learning.
