Job Description:
This is a call for applications to create a pool of qualified credit-free instructors. Credit-free instructors at DCC teach a variety of classes in the department of Workforce Development & Continuing Education. Applications will be kept on file for two years, at which time applicants seeking to remain in the pool must reapply and update their information.
The Office of Workforce Development & Continuing Education (WDCE) at Dutchess Community College provides high quality, market-responsive workforce development training. We serve businesses of all sizes, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies, as well as individuals who are seeking a new or enhanced skill-set.
Credit-free Instructors may deliver workshops or courses on our main campus, at our extension locations, online, or on-site at a business or organization's location.
Applications can be for one or any combination of the following areas:
Leadership and/or Organizational Management
Human Resource Management
Employee Growth (Entry level to professional)
Advanced Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management
Information Technology (including cybersecurity, programming, cloud computing, etc.)
As well as specific, certified career-training areas
Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
NYS Security Guard Training
NYS Real Estate licensure
Other career-training areas
Requirements:
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate licensure and/or industry specific certification, as applicable
3+ years' experience in related field (industry-specific)
Experience instructing students or mentoring employees in a formal or informal setting (classroom, workshop, company training, apprenticeship, etc.)
Demonstrated commitment to remaining current in emerging trends, topics, and new research in subject matter area(s) of expertise
Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
The ability to work effectively without direct supervision
