Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide direction to a small team (pod) of managers and staff on a CPG client, overseeing credit and collections to ensure efficient and effective operations.

  • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures to minimize bad debt risk and optimize cash flow.

  • Monitor customer accounts to identify potential credit risks and take proactive measures to mitigate these risks.

  • Conduct credit evaluations for new and existing customers of CPG clients, establishing credit limits based on risk assessments.

  • Manage the collections process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables and resolving any payment issues.

  • Review and analyze aging reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement in the collections process.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on credit and collections performance to the client.

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate with clients and financial management outsourcing staff for timely and accurate monthly finance and accounting services.

  • Provide subject matter expertise for the CPG industry.

  • Provide technical expertise on US GAAP requirements.

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of accounting systems to facilitate efficient operation and financial management of clients across various industries.

  • Perform detailed reviews of periodic client-use-only and compiled financial statements and supporting schedules.

  • Act as a liaison on behalf of clients with external auditors and internal decision-makers.

  • Foster proactive working relationships with clients and cross-functional departments to ensure timely and accurate receipt of information required for financial reporting.

  • Support business development efforts by participating in prospect meetings, calculating pricing, and drafting engagement letters.

  • Guide and support the onboarding of new clients, including client and staff training, allocation of resources, and client work assignments.

  • Drive career and skills development for staff consultants and senior consultants by actively engaging with them as their performance coach.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in accounting, with a mixture of public accounting and CPG industry accounting.

  • Proven experience in credit and collections management.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience leading teams in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

  • Full cycle accounting experience, including financial reporting, A/P and A/R, and reconciliation, with a strong understanding of US GAAP requirements.

  • Extensive experience working with SAP.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA license

  • Experience with cloud-based software accounting system conversions.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. The compensation range for this position: $170,050 - $230,050. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
