Business Unit Overview
This position is part of Novanta's Corporate and Shared Services global teams. Novanta's Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company's strategic mission and operations. Included in Corporate and Shared Services are the business functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization's financial success.
Position Details
The Credit and Collection Analyst is responsible for the management of credit risk and collection of accounts receivable of selected product lines. The core responsibility includes analyzing customer financial condition, authorization of customer credit lines and collection of invoice balances. The role will require daily interaction with our customers, internal sales team and corporate finance group; additionally, the person will have regular contact with the business general managers and site operations leaders to report and resolve any outstanding issues.
This position will be Hybrid, three days in office (Bedford, MA).
Primary Responsibilities
Evaluation of credit risk and establishment of credit limits, subject to management approval
Collection of receivables and management and resolution of past due accounts
Maintain credit and collection metrics within acceptable levels, including average days delinquent, and past due dollars and percentage
Primary liaison with sales support and customer service in reconciling accounts and handling credit hold issues
Must be adept at analysis of data obtained from bank and trade references
Initiate and maintain complete, accurate and updated records of contacts, collection activities and account reconciliations
Review orders on credit hold and personally take appropriate action to ensure delivery dates are met
Preparation of bi-weekly accounts receivable aging review
Analyzes and reports on credit memo and write off activity
Review cash applications and reconcile to open receivables, as necessary
Ad hoc projects, as required
Interpret and apply company policy on collections
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
4-8 years of collections experience
Experience with customer-based portal accounts desired
Highly motivated self-starter who can work well independently and in a team environment
Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ever-changing environment with the ability to stay focused and quickly achieve closure
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Organizational, negotiation, and problem solving skills
Able to interpret company documentation on collection policies and practices
Strong knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Oracle experience highly desired
Physical Requirements
Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials
