Job Summary:

Summary

The Credit Analyst will review and re-decision submitted applications to analyze for ability, stability, credit willingness and deal structure, including ensuring that financing term requests meet program and product specifications or counteroffer to a different product and/or program when appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • While remaining within credit and underwriting guidelines, offer alternative credit packages to dealerships in order to reach mutually agreeable terms.

  • Rehash contract terms attributes for re-submission to UACC's proprietary decisioning engine through direct interaction with automotive dealers and other business partners; gather information on their business requirements in order to make appropriate credit decisions with dealerships. Effectively communicate rationale for individual decisions to participating dealerships and Area Managers.

  • Review credit reports, applicable debt ratios and loan-to-value ratios in order to make credit decisions that mitigate future risk for the company.

  • Review, analyze and underwrite complex auto retail installment sales contracts within Company guidelines.

  • Utilizing Company guidelines, manually review and decision credit applications on a daily basis with the goal of same-day turnaround time. It is expected that analysts will review and redecision at least 50 applications daily.

  • Effectively communicate and build strong working relationships with the Sales/Marketing Team, Funders and Dealership partners.

  • May travel to covered dealerships in conjunction with an Area Manager to deepen understanding of and relationships with key constituents.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of consumer auto finance and/or underwriting experience is highly preferred but not required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Language Ability

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in person, in writing and by telephone.

Computer Skills

Proficient in use of MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and G-Suite products.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Physical Demands

Ability to work at a computer for extended periods / over the entire shift.
