POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the sales staff through the evaluation, analysis, and management of loan transactions of current and prospective customers including periodic account reviews. Assists Senior Credit Analyst with region/division work flow and also SBA loans, underwriting SBA applications and adhering to standard operating procedures as identified by the SBA.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Reviews loan transactions through interviews with applicants, references, credit ratings, credit scores, and financial statement analysis.

  • Responsible for collateral assessment.

  • Assesses proper balance of credit strength and appropriate risk.

  • Assists Manager with complicated and more involved customers and credit requests.

  • Conducts research of specific industries and regions in which customer conducts business.

  • Prepares transactions for approval, both written and verbally.

  • Maintains credit records and performs periodic review of current customers.

  • Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position.

  • Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and complies with the requirements.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Two (2) or more years of commercial banking, accounting or finance experience preferred.

  • Understanding of commercial lending involving credit reports or credit bureau analysis.

  • Good PC skills - proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.

  • Problem solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • High degree of attention to detail.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree preferred; concentration in Accounting or Business preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel to all locations as well as ability to travel over night, as needed for meetings, projects, seminars, etc.
