Credentialing Specialist - Medical Staff - FT Days (48531)

Responsible for assisting in the credentialing processes and maintaining of credential file documentation. Responsible for Not On Staff NPI document entry and distribution.

• Works with MS Manager in assisting with the Application and Reapplication Processes

• Works with MS Manager to assure all files completed within timely manner and appropriate staff are notified.

• Effectively Sets up New Application Files.

• Posts all on call schedules for physician call groups on the intranet.

• Notifies departments of physician out of town time, staff status change, etc..

• Assures up to date license and malpractice insurance information.

• Maintains Library Use with the University of Arkansas. Sorts and distributes the mail.

• Maintains Credentials files with all documentation.

• Assist in Medical Staff Department and Committee Meetings to include meeting preparation, sending notices, taking minutes, completing follow ups.

• Maintains Meditech with all Not On Staff NPI numbers and ensure monthly no Not on Staff Physicians are on the OIG Exclusion list.

• Completes verifications for other facilities.

• Stocks and organizes Medical Staff Lounge with MS Meetings Assistant.

• Answers Patient Request for physician Questions

• Provides support to the Medical Staff Manager as needed.

Qualifications

Education Requirements and Other Requirements:

• Education Level: High School, Some college preferred.

• Certification/Licensure: CPCS certification preferred

Experience Requirements: Previous Medical Staff office Experience with credentialing. Excellent verbal and written skills. Medical Terminology and transcription. Knowledge of Microsoft office, CredentialStream, and knowledge of Meditech preferred.
