The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the data integrity of CorVel's provider credentialing database and contributes to the best possible patient experience by helping to ensure that providers in the CorVel network meet all established federal and state standards as well as National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards.


  • Primary Source Verification Obtain verification of license, education, certification, accreditation and other elements provided on facility and practitioner credentialing applications.

  • Alert Triage and Handling - Manage alert queue for incoming work. Including application download and credentialing complete notification.

  • Correspond with provider and PPO staff for missing items required for file completion and follow up on a regular basis.

  • File preparation Review NPDB, malpractice history, and sanctions. Summarize any issues to be presented to the committee. Copying issue file to committee folder.

  • Location updates Updating the credentialing database with demographic updates including location updates and terminations.

  • Merges Handling duplicate entries caused by the database with demographic updates including location updates and terminations.

  • Research/standards Investigating new sites for primary source verification. Keeping up to date with credentialing standards, credentialing program, and standard operating procedures.

  • Requires regular and consistent attendance

  • Complies with all safety rules and regulations during working hours in conjunction with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program ("IIPP").

  • Additional projects and duties as assigned.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to learn rapidly to develop knowledge and understanding of federal and state standards as well as the credentialing practice.

  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office including Excel spreadsheets

  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.


  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent relevant experience.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in credentialing

The purpose of this position is to support trials, facilitate sales, and maximize utilization of installed Elevision IR and Elevision HD systems across the US by working closely with Sales & Marketing Management, Executive Capital Sales Specialists, Operating Room personnel, various surgeon specialties and hospital administrators. Roles and Responsibilities * Technical/Clinical support * Represents Medtronic Advanced Visualization business during surgical procedures to provide troubleshooting and other technical assistance * Help with installation of equipment and in-servicing * Receives technical inquiries by customers. Researches solutions to questions or problems. * Perform periodic upgrades and exchanges to equipment placed in hospitals. * Customer Education Support * Educates and trains surgeons, hospital personnel and OR Staff on technical matters relating to Medtronic Situate products * One-to-one training sessions. In-service education programs * Assists sales management and sales training in educating and training new sales reps, clinical specialists, and account managers on Medtronic Advanced Visualization products * Provides training and resources for hospital staff to enable them to conduct training for their personnel. * Face-to-face client support, including Operating Room, Sterile Processing Department and Biomed Sales Support * Assist the Executive Capital Specialists and/or conduct trials and implementations of the product in operating rooms or other ancillary departments in hospitals and surgery centers. * Timely completion of all Administrative responsibilities (expenses, etc.) * Conduct and understand the elements of the evaluation process/or product trial and report out the results. * Ongoing Case scheduling * Provide technical, educational, clinical and sales support to assist the US in meeting Medtronic Advanced Visualization objectives. Must Have: Minimum Requirements * Bachelors degree required * Minimum of 4 years of experience, (clinical, sales or clinical specialist) or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years experience, (clinical, sales or clinical specialist) Nice to Have Surgical PA or Surgical OR nurse desirable * 3 years of clinical specialist or sales experience in medical device or capital equipment preferred. * Excellent clinical selling skills and ability to build credibility with surgeons and OR staff * Knowledge of the Operating Room and sterile field * Vendor credentialing * Working knowledge of computer and proficient in windows * Demonstrated verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills * Ability to multi task and identify new opportunities * Proven excellence in work ethic, adult education, product knowledge, technical trouble-shooting, customer satisfaction and leadership.
