Credentialing Coordinator Per Diem

This position requires a highly motivated and detail oriented Credentials Healthcare Professional. We are committed to providing high quality service to our patients, our staff and our medical staff. This is a position of high responsibility that requires great attention to accuracy. The Credentials Coordinator processes and analyzes the applications and appointment/reappointment of medical staff and allied health professionals. They ensure credentials meet regulatory agency requirements and adhere to Medical Staff Bylaws/Facility policy. They enter practitioner data quickly and accurately.

Required Skills

  • Recent credentialing/medical services experience.

  • Insurance Verification experience required.

  • Experience in a medical office required.

  • Experience in the use of credentialing software strongly preferred.

  • Experience working directly with physicians and their offices on appointment/reappointment process.

  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and governmental regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrated speed and accuracy of data entry.

  • Very strong clerical and organizational skills.

  • Experience in use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc

Responsibilities: To coordinate and support Medical Facilities programs, projects and activities. To provide support to shipboard medical teams from corporate shoreside office. Medical Equipment, Supplies and Medications Support * To accurately complete tasks associated with core responsibilities, to research and facilitate the procurement of appropriate medical equipment and services as per Medical Facilities Manager instructions * To organize annual preventative maintenance program for medical equipment, coordinate corrective actions and repairs with third party vendors and update warranties and records by using a consistent methodical process * To maintain thorough and accurate records associated with assigned areas of medical facilities responsibilities (e.g. formulary, service reports and certificates, equipment tracking, purchase orders and invoices, budget tracking) * To evaluate and prioritize medical facilities requests, issues and problems and recommend timely, comprehensive, cost effective and practical solutions * To respond to shipboard requests in a timely manner (e.g. Medical supplies issues, medical assets issues, general information request) * To recognize and report to management critical issues such as equipment outages, budget issues, urgent ship requests. * To conduct disciplined reviews of the assigned areas of responsibility, providing recommendations that promote continual improvement Ship Support * To communicate timely updates between shoreside and shipboard staff of medical equipment and supplies issues. * To communicate with other departments and/or vendors and coordinate necessary logistics associated with equipment movements and department programs (e.g. transfers, shipments) * To provide comprehensive support to Medical Facilities as directed (e.g. preparation, distribution, filing and tracking of a variety of written documents, spreadsheets, meeting minutes and presentation materials) Financial Support * To comply with Company purchasing guidelines and maintain accurate records oftransactions/purchases * To alert management to any purchases and/or purchase processes that may not comply with the Company guidelines * To process medical facilities purchases in a methodical and accurate way in a timely manner * To demonstrate a high level of sensitivity to cost effectiveness within all aspects of Medical Facilities General Administration * To complete all ad hoc projects as per Medical Facilities Manager assignments * To consistently remain attentive and responsive to important Medical Facilities considerations, even if the related issues are not specifically referenced on Major action and Support Actions description Requirements: * Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred. * Minimum 2 years' experience in administrative support required. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while prioritizing workloads. * Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with various teams. Analytical and logistics skills preferred. * Occasionally to support business needs, projects or operational support that may be required outside of normal business hours or on weekends.
