Summary

Coordinates, monitors and performs the medical staff and payer credentials verification process for initial appointments, temporary privileges, and reappointments of physicians and allied health professionals.

Job Duties

  • Collects, reviews and prepares data for final medical staff and allied health professionals credentials review for clinic, hospital and payer environments. Works with providers to obtain any missing information. Processes requests for additions or changes in clinical privileges.

  • Ensures that requisite licenses, malpractice coverage, and certifications are current for all medical staff members and allied health professionals.

  • Maintains files on medical and allied health professionals including information related to licensure or clinical practice disciplinary actions, clinical practice restrictions, and medical malpractice suits, judgments and settlements. Provides requested reports as directed.

  • Maintains current knowledge of and compliance with medical staff accreditation standards with applicable regulatory agencies and licensing standards. Participates in the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred

  • Credentialing experience.

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) by the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) or Registered Health Information Administrator(RHIA).

Summary Administers Medical Staff Services information including professional practice evaluation, quality outcomes, data analysis and report development. Evaluates reporting tools, processes, and structures that reflect a changing business and clinical environment. Responsible for all system facilities, including Central Verification Services and Medical Staff Offices Job Duties * Documents compliance with Joint Commission (JC) standards that require evaluation of credentialed provider clinical practice. Reports improvements through established quality processes * Identifies the need for new analysis and evaluates functionality of existing reports to support credentialing practice, quality monitoring, and regulatory and compliance audits * Leads projects to onboard new hospitals for system credentialing and privileges services using workflow analysis, gap analysis and creation of technical workflow and reporting platform to support go-live and subsequent support * Leads problem-solving efforts regarding system limitations, upgrade requirements, and ineffective processes Requirements * Bachelor's of Nursing degree from an accredited Nursing program * 5 years of clinical nursing or related healthcare experience * 1 year in leadership related database systems and analytic problem-solving, partnering and project management * State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) * Preferred: Master's degree in Healthcare Informatics * BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.) Due to Point of Care Testing duties associated with this position, upon hire, a copy of highest level of education (diploma, degree, or transcripts) would be required to present to the hiring manager.
