Evaluates transfer credits. Duties include, but are not limited to, a variety of administrative processes and includes regularly communicating and working with supervisor, other evaluators, academic departments, internal and external offices.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and certifies complex credentials and transcripts; processes credentials based on established transfer credit equivalency guidelines and policies; ensures authenticity of documents

  • Researches various resources and academic systems to determine transferability and equivalencies of applicant's credits; converts credits to the University system

  • Provides assistance and information to students and general public regarding transfer credit policies and procedures; confers with students planning to transfer regarding transferability of credits

  • Communicates with academic departments and administrative assistants in assisting students with transfer credits

  • Updates computerized student files; verifies and adds information to permanent student records; documents student's current status in the transfer credit process

  • Informs students of transfer credit evaluation; handles necessary correspondence

Education Required:

  • Associate's degree (or equivalent knowledge obtained through a combination of education, training and experience).

  • College degree is preferred.

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience required in area of expertise.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency

  • Ability to organize and prioritize a fast-paced schedule

  • Ellucian Banner (preferred)

  • Microsoft Office Suite (email, databases, spreadsheets, word processing)

  • Must be able to work both independently and with a team

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech's 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
