Oscar is looking for a hands-on Creative Director to join our growing Brand Experience team.

About the Role

The ideal candidate is equal parts practicing writer and nurturing people manager. You are known for your work on evocative campaigns and by the impression you leave on your team. In this role, you'll report directly to our VP, Design and lead brand storytelling + content development. On a typical day, you'll oversee multiple projects throughout their full lifecycle and directly manage a small team of full-time and freelance writers to execute on a range of content across channels.

You will be joining our Brand Experience team, committed to reimagining the role of our brand and its influence on healing the broken health care system. We examine the entire customer experience and consider the design of systems to be as important as the campaigns we make and the stories we tell. Our work is rooted in research, our practice is human-centered, and our vision is set on seeing Oscar care in original ways.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-visibility marketing campaigns + digital content that reach our intended audience and drive measurable business impact.

  • Partner deeply with the Marcomms and Design to craft creative briefs that unpack complex requirements and make room for questions, creativity.

  • Closely integrate with the Marcomms and Product teams to ensure the spirit and vision of Oscar are accurately captured across all communication channels.

  • Manage the creative strategy and direction of multiple projects and campaigns.

  • Actively listen to and support your team as they tackle complex problems.

  • Provide constructive feedback and direction to external partners (agencies, studios, vendors), ensuring both marketing and design best practices are upheld.

  • Remain up-to-date on relevant and emerging mediums + strategies and the opportunities they may bring to Oscar.

  • Deepen cross functional teams' knowledge of brand and creative strategy.

Requirements

  • 7+ years design experience in a direct-to-consumer brand or agency role

  • Created multi-million dollar marketing campaigns for high-impact brands

  • Disciplined and intuitive ability to direct creative work in a dynamic environment

  • Solid storytelling foundation, combined with conceptual campaign experience

  • Exceptional communication skills among diverse teams and functions

  • An online portfolio with strong storytelling and creative campaign projects

  • Deep working knowledge of brand and content strategy

We are committed to process, working smart and enjoying the work we do.</p><p>Mod Op is looking for an experienced <strong>Creative Director</strong> with the ability to lead all aspects of digital, broadcast, and brand design for several key accounts. While a strong design and art direction background is expected, our ideal candidate will also have a wide range of advertising experience with respect to brand development: campaign creative ideation, including copywriting, video production and editorial. From keeping the team on-point and on-brand, to defining and developing omnichannel campaigns, websites, collateral and other unique content, you will have a very hands-on role in the conception, creation, and execution of a wide variety of projects and campaigns, both big and small.<br></p><p>Internally, you will collaborate with account, creative, and media management to develop and recommend advertising which aligns with our clients’ marketing goals and objectives. Along with the account team, you will share responsibility for client management as well as maintaining creative quality and brand consistency across all touchpoints. Being a team leader and highly experienced also means you understand the importance of continuing to listen and learn from clients and colleagues, maintaining a positive outlook, and leading by example to inspire the team to great work.</p><p><br></p><h3>Essential Functions</h3><ul> <li>Self-starter who can get into the proverbial weeds and take a very hands-on approach to creative development across multiple media: design, illustration, copywriting, digital, print, video, presentations, etc; often under tight deadlines.</li> <li>Use an analytic and strategic approach to creative ideation, focused on alignment with our clients’ marketing and advertising objectives in the interest of developing effective and impactful creative design to drive an emotional connection with our clients’ target audience. </li> </ul><ul><li>Comfortable presenting strategy, campaigns, pitches and other creative ideation directly to client, along with client management as it relates to these efforts. </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with other CDs and Account Directors at Mod Op to ensure work is elevated but always within schedule and budget parameters.</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain and grow business by developing presentation materials and internal projects, and participating in client outreach and presentations. Mine both existing and new client relationships for growth.
